Wiccans and Pagans usually don't judge anybody on their sexual preference, but there are plenty of times they are being judged on their beliefs. So, be prepared for that.
Until you have been working with Wicca for a while, keep your religious preference to yourself. Some family members have a hard time dealing with that, especially Christians, since they are being taught that all non-Christians will burn in hell. If later on you are certain that this is the path for you, you can still come out of the "broom closet".
You wrote you are a teenager, so I don't know if you are a minor. There are groups out there that are teaching circles, but they will usually not admit you, unless you are at least 18 years old or your parents have given permission for you to attend.
If you are under the age of 18 and feel that you cannot talk to your parents about Wicca, you may have to wait to get more active and stick to research on the internet for now.
There are many informative websites and books out there to find out more about Wicca and other Pagans - too much to mention here.
I am Pagan.

what about the Yoruba religion that is African based religion. Wicca is a very interesting religion, but you better be sure that's what you want to do. You aren't going to be able to get out of being judged. That's how people are. Changing religions won't get it, changing the way you think and feel about YOURSELF will. Who cares what everyone else thinks? You have to live your life for YOU.

Wicca is one of many Neopagan religions. The Neopagan movement is a loose collection of religions, groups, and individual spiritual paths aimed at reviving ancient pre-Christian religions, reconnecting with Nature, and a deeper understanding of the Self. It is not about superstition, evil, putting spells on people, or gaining magic powers. You will hear a lot of silly things from people who do not understand what it is all about, or who are afraid of any belief that is different from their own. My advice is to learn and study as much as possible on your own about as many different traditions as possible. Religion is a personal decision. There's not much advice I can give you if you are a minor, but when you go away to college you will be free to explore any religion or spiritual path that makes the most sense to you.

I used to be around many Wiccans. I'd like to tell you that there are some beautiful, kind people in the bunch. But also that there is no moral compass. And most people today still need some kind of moral compass beyond the Rede. In the real world, things can get a little more complicated than can be handled by always following the Rede. Also, it may not be so easy for someone to determine if their action will "harm none" or not.
Have you ever done something you knew you shouldn't? Well not all Wiccans follow the Rede. And when a person acquires knowledge and power without moral boundaries, that is kind of like giving matches to a 10 yr old.
My advice to you is to be careful what kind of people you associate with. You will meet some truly good-hearted people in the pagan world, but not all the energy is good.
Good luck on your journey.

I appreciate Wicca as a religion. There are a lot of books about it and tons of information online. You can find out about it there.
One caution I would have is to use your brain as you look into this or any religion, and especially if/when you join a group. If a group ever makes you uncomfortable, there is nothing wrong with leaving. There are plenty of other groups out there, or you can practice alone.
If you are concerned about your family, perhaps you could discuss it with them. If you don't think you could do that, then you could wait until you're 18 to begin practicing. Many covens (groups) I'm familiar with have a rule that minors either need to bring a parent or wait until they are 18.

Every religion has a golden thread of truth that runs through it. All have different beliefs, customs and rituals.
Keep an open mind and don't become a zombie follower.
Also study other religions, read books, go to services.
Research as many as you can, only then will you realize the real religion is in your heart.

I have been Wiccan for over 20 years, but as a Wiccan, I know it's not my place to teach another's child without their permission.
If your parents aren't going to be alright with it, it's not your time yet.

I use to be Wiccan. I can teach you everything you need to know.
Wicca is a religion concocted by a man named Gerald Gardner in England circa 1950. Prior to Gardner, there was no Wicca. Gardner's original Wicca seems to have been little more than an excuse for him to be tied up and beaten by strong willed women, according to Adian Kelly, a Wiccan traditionhead and author of "Crafting The Art of Magic".
