I want to burn some jpeg.s on a CD-R, so when the disc is inserted in the D drive, it automatically plays a slide show. Also, I would like to add some music to it. What programs can do that and how is it done?

There are two ways to do this...

1) Create a VCD that looks like a slide show -- more universally compatible, but resolution is kinda low. However, it's viewable in almost all DVD players, no PC required. VCDEasy has the slideshow builder, but it doesn't do sound, though it wouldn't be too hard to cut some music to match up to the length and add it to the video track, theoretically speaking. :)

2) A PC-based presentation program with embedded viewer. You can create a MicroSoft Powerpoint presentation and add the viewer (free) to the CD, but making it start automatically is kind a pain for the user, even though I understand you want it to be foolproof. But there are ways to do that. Only viewable on a PC, of course (not even a Mac, unless it's emulating a PC)

Both can have music added, though method 2 would be easier.
