A rain forest raider is a slash and burn logger that clear cuts the jungle for timber. there are other types. The jungle floor is very fertile for one or two years after clearing, so some farmers clear the jungle to plant their crops. when the soil deteriorates they just move on and clear more jungle. That why the rain forest is shrinking so quickly!
