Astute question.
I choose the later but I would phrase it as: Believing in a particular manner in believing in A god/gods.

A particular manner of believing in God = form
Belief in God = substance
Gotta say, a number of years back, I SERIOUSLY was considering converting to Islam. Still a Christian today, however.

Funny I was just thinking how much better are my moral codes without gods and religions to warp them into something else.

I believe in one God that exists as three persons or expressions with one essence (Trinity).
Why the thumbs down? I'm just answering the question by stating what I believe about God. I'm not being offensive to anyone.

Given your choices, I would chose the latter. I am a quasi-agnostic. My particuar manner of belief does not coincide with any religion of which I am familiar.

I believe in God, I believe in his Son whose truth is with us now, and I believe in his Spirit that guides us.
