Jesus taught us to pray saying, "Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy." If we make up a new religion as a game, it is certainly possible that we have something for which to seek forgiveness.

A new movie called "The Golden Compass" tells part one of a three-part story about children who kill God. The writer and those who have created a children's movie fantasizing about killing God are not only failing to keep God's name holy, but also are actively working to undermine children's faith.

Jesus forgave sins, as in the case of the woman caught in adultery (John 8:1–11) and the woman who anointed his feet (Luke 7:48). He explained, "The Son of man has authority on earth to forgive sins" (Matt. 9:6).

Christ gave this power to specially trained disciples would be able to offer forgiveness to future generations. He told them, "‘If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained’" (John 20:21–23).

You are fortunate that as a Catholic you have the opportunity for forgiveness and spiritual direction.

Cheers
Bruce

Don't take any of it too seriously, especially some of the things written about being careful. There is one huge difference between playing and taking the Lord's name in vain. God is NOT going to punish you for something like that. If he did, then children all over the earth who play "cowboys and indians" are committing murder. It's silly to even think about it. If you still feel bad, explain in confession. Unless Catholics have gotten even stuffier since I went to service, you might eve get a slight laugh. The fact that you feel bad about it also shows remorse, God does not punish those who feel bad. That would be the same as God punishing you for laughing at a joke about your faith. The laughter is an indicator that you understand the words to be foolish. Lighten up. You have a long life ahead of you and it will not be enjoyable if you take it that seriously. God didn't put us here to be miserable. He put us here to love each other as he loves us all.

One thing that God won't allow you to take back is blasphemy, but thats if its intentional.... Btw, you didn't blaspheme... Blasphemy is cursing or swearing against God, or calling evil upon someone or deliberately making fun or mocking God or anything regarding God. Such as saying something stupid like, "Who gives a ..... about God" or saying God..... it! or Saying Who is God anyway, Gods a ..nk... or something to that effect. What you guys did was like what any other human being did to start a church that wasn't Holy Spirit led. Its an offense against God if you all did it in such a way to mock Gods Perfect will or to make fun of anything regarding Gods Will...

Repent for your ignorance... pray for wisdom...

Amen Jimi4950!!! No one can put you in Heaven or Hell except the Lord thy God...no priest or pastor... what do they need to know your sins for? I will tell you, to be able to mock you and have something to hold over your head... They are meer human beings just like you are... that is a little tidbit for any catholics that go to confession... Its nothing for anyone to know except you and the Lord. They have to pray for their own sins just as the next person... why must I tell them mine, do they tell you theirs??? No, because it would likely be about little boys in the little boys room with them alone! Ugggh!

If you made up something for fun, I do not think it's blasphemy. I think the person who told you it was is just wanting to scare you, or has been scared by someone else about this topic.

You were just kidding around but you might want to be careful what you say. It says in scripture that what comes out of a mans mouth is what defiles him.

However, you shouldn't have trouble being forgiven.

If you created people would you forgive one of them if they mocked you? I bet you would be cause your religion says that you were made in the image of your God and are a child of God. Kids bite their parents when they are young. Dogs bite their parents when they are young. Parents forgive. Answer is yes! Desire not to do it again.

Your friend is full of beans, among other things. It was a game. that would be like the U.S. being threatened because you and your school friends decided to make up your own country.

God forgives even blasphemy if you ask forgiveness. You can ask forgiveness directly from God.
