There are other sentences you can receive for a felony other than prison. Probation, Fines, etc. can all be used for Felonies in addition to Misdemeanors.

First, ask a person that was at the desk where you saw the felony listed as the correct way to get that out of the record. Do what he says. If there is no help there, go to the person in charge of such records. Don't give up. Eventually, you may have to have a lawyer write a letter to help get it off, but start with the department where you first saw the entry. Good luck.
Live your life so you never DO have a felony listed against you. I
If, by chance, you mean that a felony was listed but it should have been a misdemeanor, go back to the original lawyer and have him intervene.

ok, doing prison time and having a felony on your record dont always go on the same sheet. You could do the felony but get probation and no prison time, or you could get probation for a misdemeanor and no jail time.. your question is not very clear. What does the record say ?

felony does not equate to prison time
were you charged with a felony?
were you convicted?
if the answers are no then contact your local district attorney or the district attorney where this felony shows as being from.
if the answers are yes then it ain't coming off your record regardless of if you did time or not.
if this is not actually on your record but was found doing a background check by an independent company you will need to contact them to get it corrected. they have procedures for you to follow just like if your credit report is wrong.

If your record is inaccurate you need to start by contacting the agency that made the entry. They are normally the ones that can fix it. But the fact that you never served time doesn't mean that you never committed a felony.

u do not have to do prison time to have a felony, but if the felony is really there you need to contact the company the background check came from, and provide proff that you do not have that felony

Your going to have to go to court. Go to your police station in which the felony was taken account for, and talk to them. They will lead you in the right direction.

if haven't commited the crime on your record go to the police station and demand to see the papers on where/when/why you were arrested and ask why you can't recall it ever happening.

It's "Broken" and you want to "Fix it?" Get some super glue and do some jail time.
