I'll begin by giving a little background on myself. I'm 18 and currently attending a community college with plans of transferring to UC Santa Barbara next year to work on a B.A. in Communications. I have a strong, deep, clear voice and have performed in my high school musicals/plays. I gained a lot of praise about my voice and that heeded me in the direction I'm headed now, which is communications.

However, I'm not sure where my best bets are. I've been told that with my voice I would do great on the radio, acting/TV, or singing. All of which I know are very competitive. I've also heard that the communication degree is one of the easiest to get. So, should I limit myself to just a communication degree? Or would it be wise to double major in Com and perhaps Drama so that I gain acting skills in case I do land a job on camera? Also, what other kinds of careers would be good for someone like me?

I'd just like to note that I focus on voice so much because I have had arthritis since the age of 13. It's been getting progressively worse and I almost feel as though my vocal/acting skills are my best strengths as of now.

I'm in my third year of persuing a comm major. There are many different paths you can go down with communications. Many people think comm is a small field of studies when its actually one of the largest. I'm currently a Public Relations major w/ a minor in Marketing. If you want to go into radio get into a RTF program in your college.

I'm in my school's College of Communications under the Writing Arts major. Communications doesn't necessarily have anything to do with voice, so if it's important to you that you utilize that I'd make sure to pick a program specifically centered around radio/tv/film or acting.

Masters classes in social artwork, psychology and sociology often do not require one to have an undergraduate degree in an analogous degree you gained your bachelors degree. there replaced right into a student who graduated from my MSW software who had her undergraduate degree in journalism. you do not would desire to get yet another undergraduate degree in psychology to get right into a Masters software in Counseling Psychology. maximum of those classes placed countless weight into the student's own statements, any artwork correct experience in the sector, as properly as of course, GPA and GRE rankings. i'd additionally inspire you to look at your state boards that licenses counselors to confirm what their standards are. some states do require that classes are accepted via specific professional bodies, or they don't enable the guy to get authorized. I met somebody who graduated from a social artwork software that replaced into not accepted, and he or she replaced into unable to get authorized. you could google licensure for masters in psychology and your state, and the board entity that regulates and licenses that field will take place. because of the fact maximum of those classes (ie counseling psychology, social artwork, and so forth) on the masters point do require field placement (internship), if a internet software does not require this, i'd be slightly skeptical. because of the fact your purpose would be to develop into authorized, merely verify you evaluation the state board information so which you may verify you elect the appropriate on line software!
