My ears itched for a couple months, then I noticed the lump underneath my right ear. Now my right ear aches at nighttime, and now something really hurts under my chin every time I swallow. I figure this is some type of infection that needs antibiotics?

im not sure about the itching ears, but it the swelling under your chin and below your ear sound like swollen glands, which usually signal a viral infection which need no antibiotics and go away on their own with rest and a good diet. However, the worst case scenario may be that you have mumps, although most people are vaccinated for mumps as a child.

Just to be safe go to your doctor and see what they think. Hope you feel better and good luck!

There are lymp glands under your ears, when you get a certain kind of cold, at least for me these can puff up, and feels like a lump. So for me I have to then go to doctor and get antibiotic to clear it up! This has happened to me twice in 20yrs

It might be the mumps. Did you have vaccinations as a child? If it continues to swell get to the doctor asap or the inflammation and pain will only increase the longer you delay.
