Being an eternal Being, He was not born or created. He has always been.

If you'd been around literally forever, wouldn't you also have the "power" of God?

God is powerful by definition. If He wasn't, He wouldn't be God.

Why does no-one see the hypocrisy of saying that god is eternal so always was and always will be but question the possibility of the universe being eternal.

And if the universe isn't eternal then why do they think god is?

They can explain neither after all, but one is a matter of faith and the other a matter of science.

God is eternal and had no need to be born since he already existed. His power is one of his "attributes" and he is "omnipotent" which means all powerful. He has additional attributes as well but you get the idea.
