Yes the speed of the officers car is subtracted from the speed the radar gun gives him. When he is going in the same direction the speed of the police car is added to the radar guns speed measurement.

They can RADAR you ...
Driving in opposite directions as you approach them.
Driving in opposite directions after you pass them.
Driving in the same direction from their rear, going faster or
slower then them.
Driving in the same direction to their front, going faster or

Yes, it is possible. And by trying to fight the ticket, you may get a larger one. They hate to be questioned, and radar usually is correct. Read "Fighting a ticket" from your local library. It is quite helpful. Good luck.

If they think exposure to what comes out of that radar gun is safe then permit me to give them a good dose. Those things should be outlawed because they can give you cancer after one exposure! Who the hell allowed them to aim those things at people?

i don't think so. i'm no physics scientist, but i would think that their speed as they pass you would make a difference in what would show up on the radar gun and would not be accurate.
plus, they should be giving a good example and paying attention to the road...not driving and watching their radar gun :)
