Which car is more of a gas saver and the least likely to have major/recurring problems, and would be an all around reliable and safe car?

Reliability for both should be about the same if they have both been well maintained. The Prelude is smaller and therefore lighter with a much smaller engine, so it will get better gas mileage (3-6 mpg better probably). The XG is larger, more comfortable and luxurious then the Prelude. I guess it depends if you drive solo or need room for passengers, I have a family so I'd go for the XG350.

What a weird comparison!!

They Hyundai will have very poor resale, though its a OK car.

The prelude will prob get a little better gas mileage and much better resale.
