it depends on the mistake if it was a few extra dollars let her keep it but if for instance you gave her a 50 dollar bill instead of a 20 or a 100 dollar bill instead of a 50 then say something it was an honest mistake basically what I'm saying is if it was a huge difference speak up and apologize for the misunderstanding but if it was a few extra bucks like an extra hour I'd just let it go
me personally I'm very honest when it comes to money i would have told you that you overpaid me and gave it back lol do you really need the 15.00?? if not then I'd just be more careful next time if so then i guess your going to have to talk it out with her good luck

Let her keep it and talk to her later. If she does a good job with her kids a little bit extra every now and then isn't bad. At least it wasn't a larger amount.
When you talk to her spin it that it was an early Christmas gift or something. You can admit the mistake if you want but definately just talk to her so she doesn't think she'll be getting it in the future.

If you are planning to use her again, and if she did a terrific job, (and hopefully the money wasn't too much), you might as well let her keep it. It's after all, Thanksgiving in a few days, and she can go shopping with it. Next time she works for you, she will remember your kindness.

You can certainly tell her that you knew you had given her too much by mistake, and you have thought of it, and you decided to let her keep it as a bonus for doing a swell job looking after your baby.

I've done this my self i just brought it up to her attention explained the days that she worked and how much i paid her. and asked if i could just have it credit for the next time i pay her. The have all been fine w/it. Don't worry it so much and don't make it a big deal. It will work it's self out in the end.

Are you serious?
1st of all... it's called double-checking how much you are paying someone.
2nd... you can't ask her to give you money BACK. She may have already spent it. You can not ask her to give it back - plus, you have no proof that's what you did. She could just say that you paid her correctly.

Just double check next time.

AND... your screen name is strawberry b*tchcake... if you ask for the money back, that's what she'll think of you & I wouldn't want my babysitter to think of my as a "b*tchcake".

Nope, if you overpaid, too late. You can't ask for money back, you'd look like a real cheap bastard.
