I get that fear, too!
Yes you are runing your life. You should try to not think about it. That's the only way I can get rid of the feat for a while. I try to not think about it. Maybe you should try to be Catholic/Christian, it might lighten yourself up.

Very few people actually want to die. It's not exactly something most people look forward to, and those that do have a lot of problems. You don't sound like one of those people to me.

Concentrate more on your life, since that's what facing you now. Death is the part of your life that comes after you do all the fun stuff you wanted to do. You've got a long way to go before you have to worry about death.

Don't worry about death. It's just a natural part of life. It may seem scary, but don't worry about it. It will come later, and when it does, you'll be ready for it. Until then, live happy.

I used to fear death...then I had a serious stroke at the age of 25 and "died" I went to the most beautiful place in the world. I felt no pain and was able to see the Dr's working on me.I have never felt so peaceful. i met relatives that had died many years before. many people that have near death experiences are given a choice on staying or going back to earth. I was not given the choice.I was simply told it was not my time and I had to go back I have never felt that serenity since but no longer fears death. As a matter of fact I look forward to the day that I am allowed to die permanently....not that I will do anything to speed up the process.

Somtimes i get that fear. I am a single mom of two kids. Their dad is long gone and I would roll over in my grave if my kids went to my parents or family! Literally, I would haunt the family and watch over my babies. Sometimes I get paraniod about it. What I do is two things. I have made a blessing for my family and when I am upset about this, I just repeat it over and over. It is about long life, health (don't want to be in coma either and be able to LISTEN to my family with my kids!), and etc. I just repeat my blessing. I will meditate and daydream. I have already decided that I will live till 94 years old. I have this day that I know. This day is a day that I WILL live. In that day, I can feel the air, I can see my kids there, all grown up and their kids. This day is Chritmas. In this day my family is all dead (because of old age), and I am there and I leave to walk outside. I am 94 and walking strong and straight. I walk outside and I feel content and just peaceful. It is a warm day, almost like a cool summer day and I only have a blanket over my shoulders and the sun is shining. It is above 0 degess and I am walking and looking back over my life and thinking about how happy I am with how things went and I remember my fears, my joys, my cicumstances. This day WILL happen. I am living for that day. That day is close to my death. I will die 2-3 days after that day.

So when I am scared of dying and leaving my kids, my life. I repeat my blessing that I have made to replace the bad things that my family did to us. AND I daydream about that day that I am looking forward to. That day is the day that I have proved all my fears wrong. I daydream of that day becasue it will happen. And the fear leaves after enough of this.

Yes, you are ruining your life.

Absolutely everyone is going to die. Everyone. You can't avoid it, you can't predict it, most folks don't get to know when or where or how and you have virtually no control over it.

Worrying about things you have no control over causes great stress. Focus on something else - I mean FORCE yourself to always think of other things, good things, when this comes up for you.

If you don't do this, you will make yourself crazy or sick.

Good luck and best wishes.

I do not think that one should spend too much time thinking about death, because that is not living. We know not the time or the place. Life is for living and bringing and sharing our life with as many people as we can. In that way we live on and we bring life to others. Thinking of only ourselves is stifling. Think of sharing with others and you will grow beyond yourself, and indeed will find yourself.

It sounds like you may suffer from necrophobia (fear of dying, death, corpses). You may want to consult with a professional (I'd opt for a psychologist than a psychiatrist) because if it interfering with your personal life then it could get worse to where you stay in your house alone and do not want to do anything, maybe even eat, because of the fear anything you do may kill you. Fears can be overcome.

I'm sorry that I don't have a profound answer, but have you considered talking to a pastor? Sometimes if you know for sure where you are going, it seems less scary. I have 2 wodneful daughters and a great Husband, but I would still go to heaven in a minute if the time came.

You need to talk to someone you can trust right away. This is obviously eating away at you and it will get worse if you don't get help. Get counseling asap. You have to enjoy life and take it as it comes because if you spend all your life worrying about dying then you have wasted LIFE. Take care.
