I have a "heavy" personal and embarrassing question.

Over a year ago, I experienced a major loss and became clinically depressed. I also became suicidal. One night/morning I decided to follow through with my ideation and drove to a near bridge. Someone must have called 911 since police and ambulance arrived shortly thereafter.

I was taken to a hospital Emergency ward. Still upset, I snuck out of the hospital and tried to get my car back from the towing company holding it. But being notified of my "escape", they called the police who then arrested me under the Mental Health Act and I was returned to the hospital for 36hrs.

Since the incident, I've received help and I am no longer suicidal or depressed. In fact, I'm terribly embarrassed about the entire incident. Hence, my questions...

Who sees the info regarding my attempt?
-If I ever go to the hospital again, can all hospital staff read about it?
-If I'm pulled over for speeding, call all police see it?

Thank you in advance

It will not be in your criminal record, because you didn't commit a crime.

It will, though, be in your medical records, so hospital, insurance, doctor, and medical staff will see it in your medical history.

i'd imagine that the police would have the record in some type of incident report database.

you have a record of arrest / since your escape from hospital.

maybe try to have all that stuff expunged ? i'll bet that the towing was expensive for the three days.

i'm not sure how you get it out of your insurance records .. your premiums and ability to buy life insurance may be impacted.

I have been arrested under the MHA more times than I can count. It does not go on your criminal record, but yes on your hospital records and on the police record. If you hear someone refer to you as "sierra mike victor" it means you are classified as suicidal, mental problems, and violent. I'm not sure how you ever get the label changed.
