If Noah's Global flood destroyed the world's biosphere by covering all the land, except for Noah and his family, and the animals that they took on the Ark, then can one explain how animals began to populate the Americas, which are and have been geographically isolated (via water) from the rest of the world? Did the great masses of pit vipers migrate through the Bering Sea from Asia?(never mind that none of them occur above the Arctic circle) People could have taken boats. Birds could have flown (most of them).. What about sloths? Did Noah Make the rounds and drop animals off when the waters receded? Yeah, and about that, where did the waters go? Even if both poles thawed, the world would still not be totally submerged.

I like the replies that suggest I have not read the bible and need to do so. My dears, I refute because I HAVE READ and I DO UNDERSTAND.

Also to whatkindagone....

That "boat" is nothing of the kind. It is a geosyncline and is easily recognized as such by anyone who has passed 9th grade Earth Science.

The Noachian Flood handed off better than 4,000 years in the past. So there are no eyewitness survivors on earth to let us know approximately it. although, there's a written record of that disaster, which states that the floodwaters lined the tallest mountain of that element. The historic rfile reads: “The deluge went on for 40 days upon the earth . . . And the waters overwhelmed the earth so very much that each and every of the tall mountains that have been below the full heavens got here to be lined. as much as fifteen cubits [approximately 22 feet [6.5 m]] the waters overwhelmed them and the mountains grew to alter into lined.”—Genesis 7:17-20. some would ask your self whether the story of the full earth being lined with water is a fantasy or a minimum of an exaggeration. in no way! certainly, to a pair quantity the earth continues to be flooded. Seawater covers approximately seventy one % of the earth’s floor. So extremely the floodwaters are nevertheless right here. And if the glaciers and polar ice caps have been to soften, the sea point would upward push to conceal cities like manhattan and Tokyo. Geologists reading the panorama of the northwestern us of a have faith that as many as one hundred historic catastrophic floods as quickly as washed over the section. One such flood is declared to have roared contained in the direction of the area with a wall of water 2,000 feet [six hundred m] severe, traveling at sixty 5 miles an hour [one hundred and five km/hr]—a flood of 500 cubic miles [2,000 cu km] of water, weighing better than 2 trillion lots. comparable findings have led different scientists to have faith that a worldwide flood is a diverse risk. for people who have faith that the Bible is God’s word, nonetheless, a worldwide flood is better than a risk. that's a actuality. Jesus pronounced to God: “Your word is fact.” (John 17:17) The apostle Paul wrote that God’s will is that “all kinds of adult adult males could be saved and are available to a correct awareness of fact.” (a million Timothy 2:3, 4) How would desire to Paul teach followers of Jesus the doctrinal fact if God’s word includes myths

1. Land bridges and human seafaring. Gen 7:11 says the fountains of the deep were broken up, thus the terrain likely went through some serious geographical changes.
2. They didn't have time, they didn't know, their boats too weak(I recall Jesus saying something about that)
3. All the hills were covered, Gen 7:19, including theoretical icebergs, no place to land
4. Waters perhaps receded into the fountains of the deep, solidified into ice, or evaporated creating atmosphere from Gen 8:1. Also, the terrain would have been different then what it is today, so saying that the land wouldn't be covered should the icecaps melt doesn't really prove anything.

The Creationists have argued that all the contenents were a single land form at the time the flood ended, then abruptly seperated and drifted at (relative) breackneck speed (without melting from friction and without visible cause) into their current positions.

Regardless of the total lack of evidence of such a thing. We get massive earthquakes when the land moves a few inches. If the contenents were moving around so fast as to be able to seperate into their current positions in only a couple of thousand years, it would be a wonder than anything was able to keep a standing position for two millenia.

Even crazier is the fact that there is no record of such massive movements in any history.

Noah's flood is actually based on a much older Sumerian legend of a king who is warned by the god Enki that there will be a massive flood and he must build a big boat to survive. In this story, the flood is only a river flood, and there is archaeological evidence that shows that a massive river flood occurred in the right place and the right time. There are also additional documents that show that the man in question, Ziusudra, really existed. This story was used as a basis for later flood stories in the middle east, Noah's flood being one of them.

Many assume, as you do, that the earth was then like it is today. If you take the water out of the oceans, you'll find dirt under them. The earth is one big ball of dirt (molten core-okay) with a little water on the surface. As the flood receded about 4400 years ago, we do not know what the topography was like. There may have been land bridges connecting every continent. The poles may not have been frozen then either. We just don't know.
Speculate, we do.

LOL! at the Rev. Albert Einstein: do the math dude, for the continents to have drifted this far in 6,000 to 10,000 years (the Creationists' timetable), they'd have to be moving about 1/2 mile a year!

Perhaps it's Rev. Al that needs to take a geology class!

The history of nearly every people have an "Ark" story. The Babylonians did, the Greeks, the Hebrews, the Native American's, the Chaldeans, etc.

But the Bible gives the answer to the specific question you are asking about: "In the days of Peleg, the land was divided."

After the ark, the land was divided. Presumably that means, before the ark, the land was united.

(Oh, and if you are an "evolutionist" please explain the marsupial opposum, living in North America. All other marsupials live in Australia.)

Beyond just a fairy tale, that story is trying to teach people something. People should focus on that rather than wasting time arguing about whether the Noah flood actually happened or not. There is an interesting article in the source link on this topic.

First of all, are you looking for opinions or are you trying to get people to think about how impossible it is, because if you are looking for opinions I can oblige, but if you are looking to try to destroy the faith of people out there then I think you are wasting your time. Faith works above and beyond the limitations of scientific knowledge.

Now, if you are asking this question why not ask why almost every culture in the world has a mythological reference to a deluge. (or in other words a massive flood)
The Bible explains that the land was divided in the days of Peleg which was after the time of Noah. And if you look at paleobiology many of the animals did migrate across the Bering Strait.
Also, if you are of the Latter-Day Saint faith the Book of Mormon refers to a migration of people shortly after the days of Peleg, at the time of the Tower of Babel, which came to the Americas and brought all sorts of animals with them.

Gen 11:7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.
Gen 11:8 So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth:
After the flood men still chose the path of evil. So, in keeping with his promise to Noah, he did not destroy the people again. Instead he scattered them. So from this there are two possibilities. In order for them to be provided for God could have spread the animals as well so that the people could survive. Or the animals had already spread across the single land mass and God seperated the land mass into the different continents to finally make it impossible for people to unite fully in evil.
