How can I get a job? I am 32 and in college to get a B.A. I have never really worked before because I mooched off my parents, but after I get my B.A. in about a year I'm going to need to work, so I was wondering how could I start working without having any work experience? Any help would be great, thanks.

English major. (Anything but teaching would be great.)
And yeah, I see the grammar errors in my initial post. (I typed it quickly.)

Is there anything else I can do besides internships? I will need to do an internship during the last semester, but I mean something else in the meantime?

Internships if you can get one, but volunteer work counts too! Volunteer while you are in school and you can put it on your resume when you get out.

I'm not trying to be rude or discouraging, but your job search isn't going to be easy. A degree in English isn't something that has a lot of jobs available, and being 33 when you graduate and having NO job experience isn't going to help. And the fact that you don't seem to have anything in mind for a job just makes it worse - you say "anything but teaching" - you need to narrow down to what you DO want to do, not what you DON'T.
Your college most likely has career counselling - take advantage of that. And as others have said, be SURE to do at least one internship, two wouldn't hurt if that's allowed, before you graduate. And volunteer work can be put on a resume - if it's something connected with your degree and with career goals, that's even better.
Part time jobs while you are in school could also help. See if your department has anything available, but if not, even an unrelated job like retail or restaurant work would at least give you something to put on a resume.
Good lucki.

You are still in college now, so, you can get internship(s). There are plenty of internships out there that you can try. If they need people with experience then you can start working at your college. I am sure they have something for you. If that doesn't work then you can try to work at small companies. Keep on looking RIGHT NOW. It's tough to get a job but don't be discouraged. If you send 50 resumes you might hear from 2 of them. Ask somebody to review your resume and remember to practice before you go to interview. Dress appropriately too. It's not you, it is that hard to find a job. So when you get your BA you'll already have experience and you can try for bigger things.

volunteering.
I know that doesnt get you paid, but you're 32 for heavens sake. Employers are going to EXPECT you to have some previous jobs/experience on your resume.
If you cannot show a good 10 years worth of jobs, you need to have a VERY good explanation or you will find it VERY difficult to get a job.
english major, lets see...
you could try tutoring - especially teaching new immigrants to speak english. Charge them $20 or $30 an hour - and that can look very good on your resume.
Or if you did any english literature classes, you can be a tutor to the high school students, help them with essays, parts of english sentence, grammar, spelling etc. Charge them (or the parents) the same.

Answer #1 is a good answer but to intern at your age is hard. I am 38 so not poking fun! I would take some time and get involved with an online business as you can say you have been employed and you could use several sources. The sources would be advertising, marketing, sells, management, and business owner. If you would like more detail feel free to email me igetayes@yahoo.com

Well, it would be nice to know what your major is, but im guessing it has something to do with business or finance, so i would recomend getting jobs that dont really require alot of experience so try the banking industry or tr getting an internship, or non profit jobs related to your major

Try to get a part time job at the school you are going to. Also try the library. If these leads don't work out, then volunteer.
