I am a mormon, and i do believe that the LDS church is the one true church. If i didn't, then why would i be a member!! People with other beliefs do go to the same heaven as anyone else would, including us! Everyone seems to think that we believe that only mormons go to heaven. That isnt true! Other beliefs are ok with me. I can't do anything to stop them, not that i would.

One True Church: We believe that in order to return to Heaven and live eternally with God in the highest kingdom of heaven, one must perform certain holy ordinances. Those include baptism, receiving the Holy Ghost, and temple marriage to name a few. The priesthood authority (key word there--authority) was taken from the earth after the 12 apostles were killed off. That authority had to be restored to the earth again. It was through Joseph Smith receiving the priesthood by the hands of the resurrected Peter, James and John.
Other beliefs are ok?: Other beliefs about Christ are indeed ok, but and we believe that all truth can be circumscribed into one great whole. However, that still leaves the questions of proper authority. If one does not have the proper priesthood authority, the act is of not.
Go to heaven: We believe that all good people will go to heaven. That is because of Christ's atoning sacrifice. However, the highest degree of heaven, the Celestial kingdom, is reserved for those that complete all of the necessary trials, faith challenges, and live righteously while here on earth. That also includes receiving the proper holy ordinances by those holy priesthood authority.

Yes, we believe we are Christ's actual church once again restored on the earth and therefore, the only true and living church. Other faiths have truth in them, but are missing many certain truths. We believe there was a great apostasy and the authority to lead Christ's church was taken form the earth with the death of all the apostles. The fulness of the gospel was once again restored. We are not a reformed protestant church, but the restored church of Jesus Christ. Other beliefs, like I said have some truth, but not the whole truth and no authority to act in God's name. They have many good people. The bible says in my father's house are many mansions. There are many degrees of glory in heaven. To reach the highest one has to receive certain ordinances. God is a loving father and wants what is best for us. He wants to give us all that he has. He doesn't punish us so much as we decide if we wants what he has or not. Most people are going to end up in a far better place than anything this life has to offer. The fact though that they could have had so much more will be the rub.

>>Why is it in your belief that the LDS is the "one true church"?<<
Through study, pondering, and prayer I have gained a testimony that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the restoration of all things spoken of in the Bible. It is the only Church on the face of the earth that has all that God has given His children to inable them to know who they are, where they came from and where they are going as well as why they are here.
>>Do you believe that other beliefs are ok?<<
There are lots of different people at different points in thier spiritual growth. If there weren't other beliefs...then how could anyone make a choice. Are they ok? depends on what your defination of "ok" is I suppose.
>>Do other people with different beliefs go to the same heaven?<<
The highest degree of glory requires ordances as well as accepted principles. If one does not accept these things...one cannot attain the highest degree of glory set before us. Doesn't matter if they are inside or out side the church. There are 3 degrees of glory...so there is a place for just about everyone.

Well...if I didn't believe the LDS church was the one true church...why would I be LDS?
But I get what you mean. I can't explain it but I just feel like our church has the full truth, no matter what others say.
I, personally, think that all religion had truth to it but it just got twisted....yes even the Hindu religion. And I do believe some people who are not LDS will be in Heaven, and that's not personal opinion, it's what the church teaches.
And...well, yes and no. It's hard to explain. If you want some more info don't hesitate to email me(it's on my profile).

I studied w/ them til my husband made me stop. #1 answer-Joseph Smith was told by God all other religions were corrupt and not to join any of them. Therefore, he was given the info. for the BOM. So, if you don't believe the fullness of the gospel. You aren't in the "true" church. That's a paraphrase. But, you know what I mean. #2 They believe people can worship where, how, what they may. But not if they want to be saved later. They believe every other religion just has part of the truth.#3 They believe all but the most evil, vile people will inherit a level of Glory. But to attain the Celestial kingdom you must be married in the temple, live worthily of a temple recommend, and follow the teachings of the church.Basically, get saved and endure to the end. There is the Celestial kingdom, Terrestrial Kingdom ,Telestial Kingdom, and Outer Darkness. Celestial, Terrestrial, and Telestial refers to the Sun, Moon, and the Stars. That's all I can think of off my head. Like I said I had to stop talking to them. I'm sorry to any LDS if I made mistakes. I'm going by memory. No hate mail, please!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We believe that the LDS church is the only church on this Earth that teaches the fullness of the gospel (or, as full as it gets.)
I believe that other beliefs are okay, but they do not have the fullness of the gospel as we do. However, that, of course, is no reason to hate those people. Instead, we should be kind to them, and encourage them to live their life the right way.
We believe that where you go depends on your relationship with God and how you act on the knowledge that you have.
Thank you for asking!

They can't all be true. There are mutually exclusive teachings across christianity. Either God has a body or he doesn't. He can't have both.
Mormons believe that after Christ left the earth, there came an apostacy. Christ's church was not found on the earth and no one bore his authority.
God choose and called Joseph Smith to be a prophet and to restore Christs church to the earth today.
We invite all men to explore our teachings and then to humbly and sincerly ask God if Joseph Smith was truly a prophet and if the doctrines that they teach are true.
Don't ask us....ask God. He knows, and he answers the prayers of the sincere.

I've spent approximately 40 years in bishoprics, prime councils, and clerk positions, and I've noticeable a quantity of men and women go away the Church. I've sat on a quantity of disciplinary councils. None of them left the Church due to the fact that of "proof" in opposition to the Church. There are a few who simply regularly float away into state of no activity. Sometimes it's due to the fact that of a lack of religion, induced via doubts brought about via whatever they have got learn. One of my brothers used to be like that, even though he has in view that come again to Church. He did not wish to inform me approximately his doubts due to the fact that he had end up satisfied that there used to be no reply to his doubts, and he did not wish to burden me together with his doubts. It is just too unhealthy he did not speak to me, due to the fact that there may be continually an reply. Part of his trouble even though used to be that he used to be watching for a motive to not pass on a assignment, and "blindly" comply with the illustration of his older brothers. It used to be in part a satisfaction trouble. I have a thought approximately folks that go away the Church and declare it used to be due to the fact that of proof. They fall into 3 companies. (a million) Some are truthfully pressured via the arguments of guys. (two) Some appear for proof the Church isn't actual, however deep down they realize the truly motive used to be they have been angry or they felt responsible approximately their sins. (three) And others do not comprehend their possess causes. In a psychology elegance I as soon as took I heard of an exciting test related to this 3rd organization. A man or woman in an extra psychology elegance used to be hypnotized and given a put up-hypnotic idea. The hypnotized pupil used to be advised that once the trainer coughed the pupil might rise up from his seat and open the window to the study room. He would not take into account some thing he used to be advised while hypnotized. He used to be then wake up from his hypnotic trance and advised to return to his seat. The pupil remembered not anything of what he used to be advised at the same time hypnotized. The trainer after a couple of mins coughed, and the pupil received up and opened the window. Now here's the factor of this tale. When requested why he opened the window his mind instantly synthetic a motive. He stated he used to be scorching, and unusually sufficient his frame proved it via getting pink and sweaty.

The great reformers such as Tyndale, Luther, Wesley and others knew from their reading of the Holy Bible that there was no true Church upon the Earth. It was an idea punishable by death in some instances.
In New York in the early 1800's, there was general excitement in the entire area over religion. There lived there a devout family of believers by the name of Smith. They were good people who loved the Lord and loved the Bible. One son of the Smith family by the name of Joseph wanted to know which Church was true. He knew that they could not all be true because of the way they contradicted one another and did not follow the Holy Bible. Joseph, at the age of 14, read in the book of James that if any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God. He did just that. In answer to his earnest prayer as to which Church he should join, God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ appeared to him and told him to join none of them, for they were all corrupt.
Eventually, Joseph was called by God to be a prophet and he would be the instrument God would use to re-establish the true Church that Jesus Christ Himself had established during His Earthly ministry. The LDS Church is not a reformed Church, but the only true Church of Jesus Christ. It is the exact same Church as the New Testament Church.
We believe that other beliefs are ok. They have a portion of the Gospel, just not all of it.
We do believe that everyone goes to the same Heaven, but that some will receive greater rewards than others, depending on their faithfulness. We also believe that if a person dies without ever hearing of Jesus Christ and His Gospel while on this Earth, then he or she will have the opportunity to hear and receive Jesus Christ in the Spirit World.
I invite you to go to this website and hear the testimonies of people who have received the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ as taught by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

We invite you to use this website to learn more about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
I am a former atheist who went to the Mormon Church for the first time 29 years ago today. It was the Sunday before Thanksgiving Day in 1978.
The day before, I was in a field near my home and I was going to get my gun to kill myself because of a wretched life which held no joy or peace or purpose for me.
I wanted to be happy, but all the things that were supposed to make me happy, didn't.
My sister was a Mormon and she seemed happy. Just before I was going to take my life, I cried out loud in anguish to God that if He existed and if the Mormon Church was His Church, He better tell me because if He didn't, then I was going to kill myself.
At that moment, a peace that I had never known in my life washed over me and I knew that it was God telling me that He was real and that He loved me.
I got on the phone and asked a Mormon friend to come over and tell me how to be a Mormon because I knew without a doubt that God was real.
My life has not been all roses since that day, but I do know that God lives and that He loves me and that the Church of Jesus Christ is the only true Church.
God bless you for asking!
