I was wondering the same thing, so I don't think it's a stupid question. But Kroger does not own Fry's Electronics. Fry's Electronics was founded by the heirs of Fry's Food & Drug Stores and is not and never was affiliated with Kroger. In 1972, Charles Fry sold the Fry's Supermarkets chain and gave a cut of the money to each of his sons. The Fry brothers had little interest in grocery store retailing. Instead, in 1985, they joined together with a fourth partner, Kathryn Kolder, to open the first Fry's Electronics store in Sunnyvale, California. Today, Fry's Food and Drug stores (which still share a similar logo) are not affiliated with Fry's Electronics, but are owned and operated by Kroger.

Ah, no. Fry's Electronics are a West Coast chain that started in Sunnyvale, California. The logo looks the same because the money to start the electronics chain was gotten from selling Fry's Supermarkets to Kroger. Fry's Electronics have no current affiliation with Kroger's, but many other stores (like Smith's) are owned by Kroger's.

Uhmm...Electricians work with AC voltage in residential and commercial applications and has nothing to do with the 12 volt audio world of Fry's. What the previous poster SHOULD have referred to being payed as, is an Electronic Technician. Very different than an Electrician. Also to be noted is Electronic Technicians are almost obsolete these days since their primary task is to "Repair" electronics and circuit boards. Today's electronics are so inexpensive that most equipment is classified as "throw away" and is not economical to repair. (btw, I spent 20 years as an Electronic Technician. I no longer do that work because of the reason I just stated) What you would be doing at Fry's is "Installing" with the job title of "Installer". (This is also something I have been doing for 28 years and still do) That being said, don't ever expect to achieve the same level of pay as an Electrician OR Technician by being an Installer. Professional Electricians make up to around $30 an hour, Technicians make up to around $24 an hour. As an Installer with 28 years experience my top pay has never been more than $15 an hour even after having put in more than 10 years with the same company. It is however a rewarding experience to learn how to build awesome sound systems that you can take pride in.

RE:
Fry's Electronics?
Just curious but does Kroger foods own Fry's Electronics as well? The reason I ask this question is, the Fry's lettering looks much the same as Fry's Electronics.
Could this be???

Well times are tough so any job with better pay is worth a few extra minute commute and I have worked at a frys myself and they're pretty good so from experience I would say frys. Parcel work sucks at walmart but of you get part time from both I'd go for it.
