Yes, strawberries are fine for dogs.

Remember, everything in moderation. Too much of something a dog isn't used to eating can cause digestive upset, such as vomiting and/or diarrhea. Treats/snacks/extras should make up no more than 10% of your dog's diet.

Here are some things that are *SAFE* to give to dogs (there are many more "safe" things as well, my advice is to do a little bit of research before feeding something you don't know is safe or not):
- carrots
- green beans
- peas (I prefer to give them still in the pod)
- lettuce
- strawberries
- blueberries
- apples (fruit only; the seeds contain toxins)
- kiwi
- blackberries
- raspberries
- bananas
- peanut butter (great for kong stuffing)
- plain no-fat yogurt (great for kong stuffing)
- canned pumpkin
- raw meat and giblets

Here are some things that are *TOXIC* to dogs:

One more thing, don't feed your dog from the table, else you will create a 'begger'. Anything you give your dog to eat should either be in the form of a training treat or be in the dog's food bowl.

Can Dog Eat Strawberry

2016-10-19 05:17:47 · answer #2 · answered by casanova 4 · 0 0

Dogs can pretty much eat any fruit mine LOVE bananas. But DO NOT GIVE THEM GRAPES OR RAISINS. These can be toxic to dogs in large quantities. I forgot exactly why but I know they cant have them. My dalmatian eats fruit and raw veggies all the time for snack!!! Its healthy for them as it is us, Just dont feed him large quantities at one time it could cause stomach upset and diarrhea.
Good ones are apples, bananas and hard fruits like that, watermelon is good too
Oh yeah, dont let them get a hold of any pits like cherry, peach, apricot and pits of those can cause cyanide poisoning. Also with apples make sure you decor and decede, the core of an apple can be bad too.

If she enjoys an occasional strawberry let her eat one. Also let her eat a few blackberries, boysenberries or raspberries. We grew these and our dogs used to pick and eat the ripe berries that they could reach.

Some dogs also like a bit of melon occasionally. The main fruit not to feed is grapes (and raisins). And I would not give citrus fruits (I doubt most dogs would eat them anyway).

I think fruits and veggies both are an excellent source of nutrition for dogs. (even cheese in moderation.) There are some fruits and veggies you should look out for, like onions and garlic. You might even want to get creative, and cook some homemade doggy treats. Most of the recipes are really simple, and dogs love them. http://www.yummyfordogs.org/

Dogs, just like us, have to eat fruits and vegetables, just not in large amounts. If you give him too much fruit it will probably give him the runs... but giving him a little bit isn't bad. My dog loves canteloup!! I try and give it to him as a treat when I can... but always in moderation :)

I wouldn't give him strawberries, because lots of people are allergic to them, maybe pets are too.

There's this guy--find the website--Marc Marone, who's a pet specialist. He feeds his dogs carrots for treats. Look for the info on his pets--he feeds them all sorts of unusual stuff and they just munch it down.

They can but they might get sick because they are carnivores.
