It depends on the potatoe size and your microwave. I would say 8 minutes. If its on a rotating thingy, you won't need to rotate it yourself. Squeeze it and when it is soft, eat and enjoy!

Don't forget to poke a couple of holes in it with a fork so the steam can escape. Also, you can cook it in a ziplock baggie but don't zip it all the way. It will steam inside and cook quicker.

Depends on the size of the spud. Start with 10 minutes and work from there. Make sure you poke holes in it or it might explode. You don't want it all shrivly so make sure you don't overcook it. It won't taste like a baked spud - more like a steamed one - but if you are short on time - at least you'll have spuds. Very good way to also make twice baked potatoes - zap it, scoop it out and take it from there.

I've gotten the quickest results by putting the potato with in a ziploc bag with some olive oil, sealed, and nuked on high heat for 6-7 min.

I hope you have plastic wrap.....the new way is to wrap a potato in plastic wrap without sticking fork holes in the potato before wrapping. In a 1,100w microwave you only need to cook it on high for 7 minutes.

Much longer if you do not have plastic wrap.
