That was great.
Did you learn how to mash the English language like that at school or did it come naturally?

I thoroughly enjoy my life - I'm retired and there aren't enough hours in the day to do all the things I wanna do.
I try to live each day as if it's my last cos I know one day I'll be right.

Gods are for insecure children to believe in.
Fully evolved humans know that no such thing could exist.
Grow up kid; be free from the shackles of religious intolerance.

Theists often ask us, "why be moral?" I've always thought this was amusing, since, if you need to have a reason to "be" moral, that would mean that you're not already a moral person, by default. It's also a rather childish question, since "being" moral isn't the same thing as behaving oneself and following certain rules.

Seneca: Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by the rulers as useful.

I come here for the comedy and fundies never disappoint me.

Because I have made sure that what I have done with my life is mostly positive. I have volunteered at a Homeless Shelter, an Abused Person Shelter, Humane Society, given food to strangers who needed it, given shelter to those who have had none, given vehicles to some who needed one, been a friend to many, helped a few people learn to read, listened to those who needed a sympathetic ear, raised a wonderful son, and am continuing to do these things as much as I can.

So, I think I mattered to some people and animals at least.

I am making the best of my life that I can and I am happy for the first time in my life without god or church to ruin it for me. I spent a long time coming out from under the control and brainwashing of christianity. Life goes on after you die. Not heaven, but another dimension. Why worry?

It's sad that you can't find any meaning in your life without believing in something you can't see or interact with. I can see birds and flowers and blue skies and the faces of children and hear music and enjoy food and sleeping and waking and the whole myriad of things life has to offer without worrying about what happens at the end. My life is too full to want to give it up just because it will end someday. Do you refuse to wash dishes just because they'll get dirty again?

My life matters because I am leaving behind a legacy, my children, my children's children, etc. I live my life well, with morals, values, and compassion, that I passed on to my kids, so they can lead good lives as well. I don't need a make believe sky friend to tell how to live or to validate my life when I die.

My life does not need a deity to give it justification. It matters because I make it matter and because those I love and those who love me make it matter. To me, life is beautiful as it is and it does not require anything beyond that. I enjoy the time I have on earth and if you live a good life why would you need more.

My life matters because I tried to effect the next generation positively. I raised two fabulous adults (notice I don't call them my children), and I teach some of society's rejects. I have chosen to make as big and impact as I can because I don't believe in an afterlife or eternal rewards.

Because it's human nature to want to live a full and satisfying life. The alternatives are:

1: Live a completely dull and boring life;
2: Kill yourself.

Neither of these seem particularly attractive! So, why would we want to choose them? Would you?

I was under the impression that the journey, the way you live your life and those you affect with what you have done mattered, not the ending.
