Great question. One thing there should be a country wide set of rules and regulations. believe it or not your treatment depends on where you live. And greater varity of dr's for people who are on assistance ie. medicaid. Seems to me that the dr's who are taking medicaid are opting to keep their patients either too medicated or just enough to keep them bound to them. Here is my example. I am originally from NH. was diagnosed with bipolar1, bpd, anxiety, ocd, pstd and agoraphobic. In the state of NH i was taking lamictal for my bipolar and was doing ok. and I was taking seriquil for my racing thoughts when i couldnt sleep. i had a quantity of 60 per script and that lasted me a good 6 months or so. so i move to PA. and it takes a while to get an appt etc. only one place in my city scranton pa that takes medicaid that im aware of which is scranton counseling. after a month of waiting i get an appt. i tell him all the meds i was taking and this is what i got in return starting on the lamictal and something called geodon which i was to take every night before bed and the warning were watch your blood sugar. well I dont want to have to take a pill every night because i have a 2 y/o and dont want to be out of it every night. that is why the seriquil lasted so long. I asked about this and was told that seriquil is an addictive drug that all drugs are addictive and that this center doesnt prescribe seriquil. that is aweful. when you wait in this waiting room and you walk down the street you see alot of people just out of it its a scary place to go for me being agoraphobic and all and i think they just keep these poor people hanging becuase they are making money from the system.

In too many instances, sure. You listen horror reports within the information at all times now. That's why it is any such gigantic difficulty now and hospitals are required through legislation to put up that signal that says they are not able to refuse scientific medication to people who want it. This signal approach "lifestyles threatening health problem or stipulations" and the sufferer will nonetheless obtain a invoice from the health center. Doctors have got to preserve their lavish life, so persons with coverage obtain precedence medication in order that the medical professionals can accumulate that coverage cash. Scandalous, sure. Not correct, sure. It is not always the fault of health care professional's - there may be additionally a scarcity of medical professionals, and it is simply how this damaged process continues to be seeking to paintings. I suppose they name it "survival of the fittest". But on this case it looks the "fittest" are the ones with protection. But appearances may also be deceiving. It could also be nature vs. technological know-how and it turns into uncertain, commonly, who the winner is.

Accessability is limited to those who have the health and funds to pay for services.
So many of the people with mental health problems have become dysfunctional in their abilities to make money, and with limited mental resources are not able to figure out how or when to get the help they need.
Counselors, Psychologists, and Psychiatrists are highly trained specialists who deserve to make a decent living. The problem is that the people who need the greatest help are those who are too ill to hold a job.
