Focaccia bread rocks! It's already wide and flat so you get more meat & cheese per bite. Plus Focaccia is seasoned bread. Yum!

Any bread will work. Also, croissants or foccaccia or ciabatta. Panini means "sandwich" in Italian. I find that my George Foreman grill works as a great panini press. Some of my favorite ingredients include smoked gouda, honey ham, prosciutto, thinly sliced green apple, and alfalfa sprouts. When it comes to panini, sky's the limit on ingredients...any meat/cheese/vegie or fruit combo works well. Just never use mayonnaise as a sauce. Creamy horseradish, dijon mustard, or pesto work nicely. Hope this gets your creativity flowing!

Sourdough is great...but if you're going for a quick fix- try Texas Toast, or Frozen Garlic Bread.

I like sourdough. It has a great taste and texture, and it stands up to the grilling of the panini.
