A possible answer using entropy...

any liquid will spread out equally throughout the universe, so the glass will ultimately have a infinitesimally small amount in it. It's a judgement call as whether that's the same as empty.

It is every glass's destiny to be broken in the end... but on the way it will hopefully be refilled many many times, preferably with beer if it is one of my glasses.
