I am an atheist by choice, I feel that if religion and belief help people then who am I to critisize do you think that those of religous persuasion should accept that there are people who just do not believe in ' man made gods ' and allow people to be atheists without ramming it in our face. Ok you have your lord jesus other cultures have their gods point is I don't have to believe, is their someone bigger well yes their is but maybe not created by pre educated people is my belief thing is I don't make you try to run your life by my ideas so why is our world run by many religions telling me what to believe.

If your god brings happiness to you then all well and good would you give me the same?

Nay, I say.

Actually, I don't mind, too much, that Atheists have decided there is no god. In the absence of anything tangible and credible to refute god's non-existence, it kinda makes sense. They might, even, be right. Might be. But, from what you've said, there: You're not atheist.

You said, "Is there someone bigger?..... Well, yes. There is."

That makes you Deist, not Atheist. Deists do believe there is a god, but don't believe what PEOPLE and religions have, obviously, made up about the 'guy'. Deists, usually, have their own ideas about what 'god' makes of us and the world and other people but don't presume to KNOW that they're absolutely right ........ apart from the bit about there actually being a god, in the first place, AND that it is, somehow, person-like. Not physically, but somehow.

Simply rejecting religions doesn't make you an Atheist. Atheism requires that you reject any concept of god, however vague. If you haven't done that, you're not an Atheist.

All that is beside the point, though. The reason I vote 'Nay' to your question is that it is an irresponsible and negligent response to imposed dangerous, destructive and designed delusion. It may seem harmless enough on a person by person scale but as soon as you get a few of these deluded people together the negatives mount up. The thing with a delusion is that EVERYONE has to have it, or there's gonna be trouble. Either the deluded will suffer or they'll make the rest suffer. You can see that on the news any day of the week.

Religions are deliberately encouraging people, children and adults, to be delusional and it CAUSES suffering and misery on a big-time serious scale. The little comforts are false and delusional. They're not worth it. Nip them in the bud whenever you get the chance. See the big picture. Don't let them think their delusions are OK. They're not.

Your final statement is beyond naive. What is well and good about the imposed insanity of religion?

Actually, no. Evidence, or more accurately, lack of evidence, is what makes us atheists. It's not really a choice, any more than walking is a choice when you run out of gas. Religion ran out of gas long ago, and realized it needed to coerce people to believe, to finagle subsidy funding from the government, and, too often, to get its followers to kill off nonbelievers.

Considering all the damage religion has done in the world, ignoring the spread of religion is like ignoring the spread of anthrax just because you've been vaccinated: incredibly self-centered and irresponsible. Not to mention short sighted, because the next person killed by a religious fanatic might just be you.

EMP . they say the christmas tree was made by them in the Christmas tree was a Pagan tradition, it was a celebration of the winter solstice which occurs between the 20th and 23rd of December. Decorating Christmas tree started as a tradition in the mid-19th century, at points before that it was looked down upon by the church. Killing a tree to decorate is consumerism, so is the star and the nativity story.( this is wrong ) it is Why do we have a decorated Christmas Tree? In the 7th century a monk from Crediton, Devonshire, went to Germany to teach the Word of God. He did many good works there, and spent much time in Thuringia, an area which was to become the cradle of the Christmas Decoration Industry.

Legend has it that he used the triangular shape of the Fir Tree to describe the Holy Trinity of God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The converted people began to revere the Fir tree as God's Tree, as they had previously revered the Oak. By the 12th century it was being hung, upside-down, from ceilings at Christmastime in Central Europe, as a symbol of Christianity.

Sorry I don't know much about the training you'd have to go to in order to qualify as a chef but there must some way you can train in just vegetarian cooking. Most hindus in India are vegetarian so they must have a way of getting around it. You said that you'd like to be knowledgable in all areas of cooking and so I'm afraid in that case, you'd have to cook meat because that is a huge part of it. You could specialize in vegetarian cuisine if you want to and I'm sure in the future this would prove profitable as more people become vegetarian.

Boy! You asked the age-old question, didn't you? I don't know y people can't accept all people with all their different beliefs either. If I could answer that one I'd be one bad chic. Sounds like you're more of an agnostic though. Another good choice. The question of religion will NEVER have an answer. Just keep loving your fellow man and WOman. You're on the correct path. And give those judgemental jerks the finger!

I'm not an atheist by choice - I'm an atheist because my investigations of religion and of the Universe led me to conclude there was no evidence of gods, and nothing that needed gods to explain it.

Christians are compelled by their religious beliefs to share them with others. If you're an American like me, you live in a mostly Christian country, so you might as accept the fact you'll be evangelized from time to time.

The moment we are born we have religion. Religion that our parents pass to us. Belief that we tend to practise as we grow older. Religion, belief usually depends on race and environment where we live in. Belief is good, it keep us whole, better person and fear of doing bad things. And that makes a difference in this world. As we grow older and understand more about belief, then the choice to stay faithful to our own religion is our choice.

nothing in this world has ever been used more than money ,bartering ,or clinging on to goods . even tribes anywhere in the world before civilisation gathered goats and things.the one with the most became chief.religion preys on ignorance, hence the hierarchy of knowledge.theres always someone to tell us whats right from wrong.but the overwhelming truth is that its a human being that tells you theres a god and the human being is the one who does the punishingif you step out of line, usually its because the money making system thats been upset. so god is things like MONEY PROPERTY OR GOODS. UPSET THAT AND YOU BRING THE WRATH OF GOD ON YOURSELF.check it out by the way having money makes me happy.

Yes everyone has the right to believe in what they want and I respect that, as long as it's not hurting anyone. But usually when people "ram" their religion in your face, I don't think they mean to force it on you. They just want to share their 'gift' with you in hope that you could share the same happiness that they feel.

The fact is there's no such thing as an atheist. ALL men know there is a God.
You say you're an atheist by choice. Then you tell how you "feel" about religion and belief. There's your trouble...walking by your emotions. Having faith and trust in your own emotions will bring nothing but destruction.
