Hello, I currently have the HD box from comcast, and i get all the HD channels (channels 803-876), but with the regular non-HD cable channels, sometimes a program will say it is in HD in the info description (for example, new Myth Busters on Discovery Channel) but when i click to view it, it will be regular crappy looking...

and YES I do have it on the correct input that I use to watch the HD channels

What can I do to watch Myth Busters in HD or any other HD program outside of channels 803 to 876?

Just because the Info description says it is HD, it does not mean it is HD.

Only HD channels will broadcast in HD resolution. Even some programming on HD channels will only broadcast in 480p, which is an SD resolution. Standard definition stations will always look bad on an HDTV. What you are experiencing is normal.

Until all stations broadcast in HD, you are limited to those few HD stations.

You should not have access tovthe hd stations if you are not subscribed to hd service. It is quite possable that you have been paying for hd without knowing it, especially since you have an hd capable box. When I get calls for poor quality on hd tvs the reasons are usually simple and easy to fix. First make sure that your hd DVR is connected with an HD cable, either HDMI or component. Next be sure that the tv is set to the matching input. I often see nice hd tvs that are hooked up with HDMI cables but the tv is set to the coax input, it will work but its not the best. Finally be sure that you are watching an HD program. There will be a small HD symbol on the right side of the on screen info bar. Not all programs are filmed in HD so even hd channels can sometimes have programs that are not hd. Hope this all helped.

When it says HD in the info box, what it really means is that it was filmed in HD using HD cameras. Just like most new TV shows. For example Heros Or Monday night Football. But if you watch heros on channel 6 or Monday night football on espn on 46, they will look like regular TV because those stations only broadcast in 480i. You have to switch stations to 806 or 846, although the same stations, those channels are broadcasted in at least 720p. sometimes they will even have different commercials, TBS does all the time.

Are you watching it on "Discovery HD" channel? This is usually a channel you have to pay extra for.

Even if a channel is HD - some of the shows are shot in standard definition. ESPN-HD is one of the worst. It's hit or miss if each individual show is HD or standard def.
