Because majority of American professing christians are NOT CONVERTED, YET.

Many lived a self fulfilling life, seeking after mammon rather than having the true love and compassion of Christ

It is what is called the Laodicean sydrome......rich, increased in goods and need of nothing (Rev 3:17), but failed to see many in this Laodicean ages are naked, UNCONVERTED professing christians.

NO TRUE CONVERSION, NO LOVE OF CHRIST

As Americans, we are richly blessed in the fact that we are not persecuted because of our belief in the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior. The church we belong to is VERY involved in around the world missionaries, and support them financially, and in prayer. Voice of the Martyrs is a wonderful sight for getting involved, and there are plenty of others as well.

Remember, however, that there are other types of persecution closer to home that you can be physically invovled in. The homeless are often persecuted against, as are the elderly.

While I know we are called to spread the Gospel to all corners of the world, I sometimes feel like our church goes to the extreme with it, and forgets about the needs of those in the community. We are a small church, with about 115 members, about 150 regular attendees at service. 35% of the churches budget is to missionary families abroad. Yet, almost nothing is done around our community.

Pray, and God will show you where the need is. Last weekend was the international day of prayer, and we had a time during the evening at church where information regarding various countries, and individuals in jail for the Lord was placed on tables, and you could quietly read about them and the kneel down in prayer for them. It was quite humbling. All the info was from teh site I mentioned above.

God bless.

It's almost like North American Christians feel like we're God's chosen, blessed people, and if other people, Christian or non-, around the world are suffering, then oh, well. We really are a kind of arrogant and self-righteous group in general.

Personally I give money to organizations that I'm pretty sure won't misuse it or let it find its way to some dictator. The Quakers usually do good jobs of that. I work in my community for justice and of course I pray, pray, pray.

American Christians don't know what it is like to persecuted for our religion so many don't understand it. They take it for granted that they can practice any religion whenever they want whenever and however they want. They hear about people in other countries dying for Christ, but they don't really comprehend it. If they want to know more about it and understand it more, read "Jesus Freaks - Martyers" by DC Talk. Also, find out more about "The Voice of the Martyers."

They can't take real persecution. They believe persecution is the teaching of evolution for crying out loud! They are so self-absorbed in their own little world that they can't fathom real threats to their faith.

well...us americans are so spoiled
we have freedom of speecha nd religion..so it would go against the constitution to be persectuted
at our church..they have things like 2 week long missiion trips and stuff like that
little things can help..not just being a missionary in africa (that would be great...but we all dont do that ) =]
hope this helps

If Christian missionaries would stop trying to convert people in third-world countries, they wouldn't be persecuted.
