I've been to several interviews now and the employer always says that I will receive a phonecall. Are they testing my patience or what?! Does anyone ever get hired on the spot? Or are they trying to reject me but don't know what to say? I am soooo frustrated!!

The employers don't care if you are on your toes or not. They are 'shopping' for the best employee, and that means that they will interview many candidates before they make their choice. It takes as long as it takes.

In most cases, the employer will contact only the person they want to hire, so if you have gone on several interviews and have not heard back yet, either you can assume the worst, or you can contact them to let them know you are still interested and find out if the position is still available.

In any case, most people have to go through multiple interviews and applications before they land a good job, so just be patient and stick with it; eventually you will land the job!

Good luck.

What I hate is after the interview they promise you that you will hear from them by a certain day, and then they dont call.
I think they dont feel comfortable saying Sorry, No you were no successful.

In my opinion, if they cant tell someone Sorry, No, then they have no business interviewing anyone.

Can you tell I am pi**ed off because the manager didnt call me back friday after he promised. I called him, and he was "not available". I had an interview last Tuesday.

As you already know, just because they interview you it doesn't mean that they will hire you. So far, 2 out 10 sends me a letter to let me know that they choose somebody else. The rest of them never call, never send email, or letter. Don't be discouraged. Keep on looking and keep your chin up.

the only places that hire on the spot are probably ones that you don't want to work at....sometimes it take 3 or more interviews before your hired...hang in there
