Does he need to damn some ppl? There have been many times and places where ppl have lived and died without knowledge of christ even after christ came to earth. There r also many places where becoming christian would put ur family and self at risk. These places existed at the same as some of the places where becoming christian was ezee and convenient... does this mean god favors some over others?

Although some people in the world haven't heard of Jesus, they all have heard of God. They still have a free choice to love and obey or reject him. God knew everyone in the world would not know Jesus to begin with but it does say in the bible that once every ear and culture in the world has heard the preachings of Jesus, this is a sign that the end of times has come and everyone will be judged accordingly. So if one dies before getting to hear about Jesus I'm pretty sure God just applies the old testament rules to them and Judges them based on the way they chose to live their life on earth.

I cannot believe that you have to be a Christian to go to heaven.
There are good and bad Christian. Being a Christian does not get you through the pearly gates.
You can be a good person. A person who tries to do what is right, help others etc. and I do not believe these people would go to hell just because they where not a Christian.
God may have another plan for that person to learn prove them self..We don't know..as know one has come back..
But any religious group who think they are the only ones going to heaven, must be very narrow minded.

Nobody knows for sure.
And I'm not going to base my entire life around a fairy tale because I was born into sin or that I've heard the word of Jesus told down the line like a 2000 year old game of telephone. Has anyone you know ever had a conversation with him? If so, do you truly believe them?
Gandhi or Bob Marley or Nelson Mandela have all heard of Jesus and yet saw the ridiculousness of Christianity. They taught peace but wouldn't enter heaven according to Christian rules.

The Bible says we need to believe in Jesus Christ to be saved and thus spend eternity with God. I understand your question as I have often struggled with the same thought. I've come to realise however that God alone knows the heart of every man. In our western world I believe everyone has the chance to hear about Jesus and choose/reject Him. There are cultures whose ways are very different to ours. But God doesn't need a man or woman to go to them even though He usually sends missionaries. There are stories in the Bible of angelic visitations and people being transported to preach the Gospel. Who are we to judge whether these cultures have heard and received the truth of the Gospel or not? Only by living with them and learning their ways could we make such a judgement. I think some of us will be surprised by who we find in Heaven. :-)

You only have to respond to God in faith and obedience to go to heaven. You don't need to become culturally Christian (or Western). There are a lot of pious pagans even in the Bible (Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, et al.) who were accepted by God but were not "Christians". Read Hebrews 11.

You don't have to be Christian to go to Heaven. It's just a better way of getting to Heaven. If you're not Christian, your chances are probably down, but it is never impossible (c'mon guys - we're talking about God's infinite grace and mercy here!) Those who do not know about Him cannot know how to act in that respect, cannot be expected to act according to Christianity. How God decides which ones stay and which ones go is beyond our knowledge...

I very much doubt that God will send people to hell because if they never had the chance to hear about him. It is not up to us to determine who will and wont go to heaven because we are not God. I am sure that God will judge everyone according to his or her own knowledge and circumstance.

I believe that you do have to be Christian to go to heaven. I think that people have to live for Christ whether it is accepted or not, whether in danger or not. Your faith should be strong enough that you know God will protect your family.

Of course not. Heaven doesn't exist. I'm shocked some people have yet to figure that out.
