Don't panic yet. In most cases there medication is used to control seizures and they can go on and live a pretty normal life. See what your vet says before you dig his grave.

First of all, you haven't lost your dog! I know that seizures are scary, whether in dogs or humans, but a dog seldom dies directly from the seizure.

True, the underlying cause could be serious, BUT that is NOT usually the case. There are a lot of things that can cause a dog to have a seizure, including old age. (My daughter had a Sheltie that started to have seizures... she was fine once she was on her medication. ) Just be aware that your family may have to adjust the dosage so your dog's seizures are controlled, but not to the point where she is "doped up". It may take a little time to find the right dosage.

You dog knows when you're sad or upset, so right now you need to be there for him and not have him worrying about you. He needs all the TLC that you can give him. Remember, don't avoid him... it's not his fault that he has this problem, it's not contagious, and he needs you. With some medication and TLC, there's a very good chance that things can get back to normal.

One more thing... sometimes, when a dog (or human) has a seizure, they may lose control of their bladder and/or bowels. Don't freak out... it just happens sometimes.

Good luck and let us know what the vet tells you!

There's lots of things that can be done to help a dog with seizures!

It's possible your dog has epilepsy, which is very treatable. Some dogs have an occasional seizure for which no cause is found. I have a dog like that. No reason for her seizure and she's just fine.

Don't give up on your dog, be calm, take him to the vet and hopefully you'll find out whatever's causing his seizure is something that can be helped! Hope he'll be ok!

Don't ask the vet if it should be put down, I asked a vet that he said yes and I did not do it, the dog is just fine, living a good life. Give it a chance.

Do not worry, the vet will know what to do, and your dog will be just fine. He may need to be on a seizure medication for the rest of his life, but they are not expensive.

You haven't lost your dog yet! Lots of dogs get seizures and are able to live fairly normal lives. Sometimes they have to be on medication. Just enjoy your time with him and hope for the best!

No need to jump to conclusions. Lots of dogs have seizures and they can often be treated with medication.

There could be a serious cause for his seizures, but maybe not.

Keep you hopes up. If you are sad, he will be sad.

Hope he is OK. Keep you chin up.

Sometimes they can just put the dog on medication and he'll be fine.
It's amazing what all they can do for animals these days.
Hang in there, and I'll say a pray for you and your dog ;)
