Pumpkin pie?

What is the best way to keep a pie? Should I leave it out in the counter or should I keep it in the refrigerator or freezer? I get confused because grocery stores keep them in all three places. What's the best?

I'd say definitely keep it refrigerated. Those ones you see in the store that aren't refrigerated are probably loaded with preservatives. A homemade one will have evaporated milk and eggs in it so you'd definitely want to keep it in the fridge.

The best answer depends on what you mean by "best"...

To keep it the longest, refrigerate it...

To keep the best flavor I cover mine with foil and store in a dark place at room temperature - eat within 2 days.

NEVER, EVER, NEVER freeze a baked pumpkin pie...

After baking a pie and once it has reached room temperature, then wrap with tin foil and place it in the fridge. If you are keeping it longer than three days then wrap the pie with tin foil and place in a freeze bag and keep in the freezer no longer then 2 weeks.

It's best to keep any custard pie in the fridge and eat it within a few days.

Grocery store pies usually have preservatives in them, which allows for safe counter-top storage, but homemade pies (the best kind!) which contain milk and/or eggs should be kept below 40 degrees F.

It depends how soon you plan to eat it. If consumed the same day leave it out at room temperature. For any longer than that keep it refrigerated.

im waiting for mine to cool (its still gonna take a few hours =[ and the im gonna eat it, lol)
anyways, you should keep it in the fridge but not the freezer

it depends on if you want it to be cold or not because if its cold it probably lasts longer than if it was just sitting out
