The 80 gb is the better bargain. For just 100 bucks more, you get Motorstorm (which is like 60 bucks), 2 extra USB ports, and 40 extra gb. Plus it can play PS2 games.
But I would get the 40 gb if you plan on keeping your PS2 and you want to save 100 bucks, and Motorstorm doesn't interest you all that much.

I think you should get the 80GB PS3 as well since you have so many PS2 games. The 40GB PS3 cannot play PS2 games, but it can play PS1 games.
