Religious history is plagued with wrong doings ( spanish inquisition, torture, witch hunts, power hungry ( holy roman empire), intolerance ( modern day bosnia of christian's killing muslims), muslims killing others, jews believing they are the SOLE chosen ones. And you will say " no one is perfect." But leading by example is a huge part of wanting to join or take part of a religion. Since we cannot see "god" there is nothing left but the bible and its followers. I chose not to take part of any religion because I do not believe people 2000 years ago hold all the knowledge of today. If god works in mysterious ways, it would be simple that if you want people to believe in it, and he is all powerful, why wouldn't he/she/it make itself known? The problem I have is that religion is used for controlling masses, a way of explaining evolution as "god just created it." Question: What proof outside of the bible, do you have for me? I know jesus is real, but that doesn't prove hes the son of god.

You won't find proof. If there was proof then there would only be one religion.

Study the scriptures and learn what they teach rather than what the hypocrites of history did and live your life accordingly. If you find that The Bible doesn't take you where you want to go, then change direction.

Or, you can give up (like me) on finding any truth and just realize that the best way to live this life is by being there for others.

You were either created or not. No other choices. No way to know the probabilities. But iIf God exists and created you, then you can tell something about God by looking inside yourself. Do you know good from evil? Do you agree love is better than hate, compassion better than disdain? Mercy better than indifference? If so, God (if He exists) must have put that knowledge into our human nature. So if God exists, He probably is the ultimate of all those things. Wouldn't that make God of infinite worth?

If God exists, it's obvious that He isn't pushing Himself on us. Do we want to find our Creator? Then we have to seek Him. Only those who want Him will seek Him. That is what He must have wanted. Seek and ye shall find. Don't seek and ye won't find. Simple as that.

Are you sure in your own most hidden mind that all this stuff about the roman empire isn't just a rationalization for not seeking God?

Apparently plenty of christians answering on listed below are pressured so I simply desired to mention there in NO proof proving the bible or that Jesus Christ existed. And for the ones of you who feel there may be evidence possibly you will have to appear on the details and no longer simply sprout out what your church tells you. Other then that I agree. Christianity is NOT the actual faith. There isn't any such factor as a "one real faith". Religion was once centered without difficulty to manipulate mass populations. If within the starting Rome had selected muslim alternatively of christianity we could have all been muslim. All there may be to it. There is a larger vigor in the market, however I am no longer so ignorant and egotistic that I could ever feel I might appreciate him and what he needs for this international.

Are you distressed about crimes committed in the name of religion? Do the warfare, terrorism, and corruption perpetrated by those who claim to serve God offend your sense of justice? Why does religion seem to be at the root of so many problems?

The fault lies, not with all religion, but with false religion. A widely respected religious figure, Jesus Christ, indicated that false religion produces bad works, just as a “rotten tree produces worthless fruit.” (Matthew 7:15-17) What fruit does false religion yield?
False Religion . . .
MEDDLES IN WAR AND POLITICS: “Across Asia and beyond,” says the journal Asiaweek, “power-hungry leaders are cynically manipulating people’s religious sentiments for their own needs.” As a result, the journal warns: “The world threatens to sink into madness.” A prominent religious leader in the United States declared: “You’ve got to kill the terrorists before the killing stops.” His solution? “Blow them all away in the name of the Lord.” By contrast, the Bible says: “If anyone makes the statement: ‘I love God,’ and yet is hating his brother, he is a liar.” (1 John 4:20) Jesus even said: “Continue to love your enemies.” (Matthew 5:44) How many religions can you think of whose members engage in war?

SPREADS FALSE DOCTRINE: Most religions teach that the soul or spirit is some invisible part of a human that survives the death of the physical body. By means of this teaching, many of these religions exploit their members, charging money to pray for departed souls. However, the Bible teaches a different doctrine. “The soul that is sinning—it itself will die.” (Ezekiel 18:4) “The living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all.” (Ecclesiastes 9:5) Jesus taught that the dead will be resurrected—an unnecessary action if humans had an immortal soul. (John 11:11-25) Does your religion teach that the soul does not die?

TOLERATES IMMORAL SEX: In Western lands, church groups ordain gay and lesbian members of the clergy and urge governments to recognize same-sex marriages. Even churches that condemn immorality have tolerated religious leaders who have sexually abused children. What, though, does the Bible teach? It plainly states: “Do not be misled. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes, nor men who lie with men . . . will inherit God’s kingdom.” (1 Corinthians 6:9, 10) Do you know of religions that condone immoral sex?

Tread carefully. Christians don't like to be questioned... After all, it is a religion of *faith.*
