first of all i want to format my both drives.C drive and D drive.completly.then i want to re-install XP SP 2.

now here are the doubts.

FIRST

plzz tell me that is this the correct way of formating a pc

3. Put your operating system installation CD (Windows XP) into your CD-Rom drive.

4. Restart your computer and rapidly press F2 to get to the boot priority screen.

5. Use the arrow keys to move to the “Boot” tab.

6. Set first boot device to the CD-Rom drive with the Windows XP CD in it.

7. Save and Exit.

8. When prompted, quickly press any key to boot from the CD.

9. Wait while it loads

10. Hit ENTER to set up Windows.

11. Continue installing

12. Press “D” to delete the main partition.

13. Confirm delete.

14. Yes to set up Windows XP on new partition.

15. Press ENTER to format the partition.

16. Wait while it formats the hard drive.
if this is then please clear some doubts...

how can i know that which of my drives has os in it..and what will hapen if i format that drive....and what are partitions....are they drive d and drive c in my pc....how to make partitions during formating.....,what if i do not have the drivers and i format my pc,how can update my drivers from net and from where...??

they gave me an floppy and a cd with my assembled computer...the floppy says

"mouse driver for ps/2

browser driver for WIN95/98/2000/ME/NT4.0/XP"

and the cd says

"software driver

Ver3.2"

plzz tell me are these the diver...i have them with me....if i run these after formating does it imean i will not have to update my drivers from the net..??

please clear my doubts because i want to format my PC completlt(just like out of the box)......
