There are several over the counter medicines in the isle with toothpaste, near the ambesol for tooth pain, you will find the meds for cold sores! This is what she has, a cold sore and it hurts like CRAZY!!!! My kids get from maybe once every few years and they C R Y like it is killing them. When you do find those meds, TAKE the one with the higher amout of Benzocaine, look at the container for the Active ingredient and compare the strengths or the percentages. THEY hurt BAD with Salty things!!!!!! and NO it is NOT THRUSH!!!! I have been a Nurse for YEARS it is a common cold sore and it hurts so dang bad! Benzocaine Numbs it temporarily allowing it time usually 7 days to heal. Ater putting this gel on it with Q tip, eat soon after while it is numbed. Salt Water will do NOTHING! but hurt WAY MORE!!!!!

Are they white sores? If so, then that is I believe thrush. My daughter had it when she was just a baby.. They gave me a prescription of half Maalox and half liquid benydril and I had to rub it all around her mouth with a qtip.. Your daughter being 10 should be able to gargle it herself.. (about 30 seconds) and spit it out.. Do NOT swallow.
My grandmother has this problem too, and they gave her the same , but hers had lidocain in it.
You could also call her pediatrician and have him call in a prescription, it was called 'magic mouthwash'
Good luck and I hope she feels better!

Saltwater rinses 3 to 4 times a day will help tremendously. If she is on an antibiotic, this could be "thrush" and I don't recall about that. (Yogurt I think...).
Taking L-lysiene helps general mouth health and can speed healing, also zinc is effective at inhibiting infections.

make a solution of 1/2 peroxide 1/2 water and have her swish it around in for a few seconds then spit it out, that always helps my cold sore faster than anything else including that 14$ stuff.

i assume the dr gave you meds, but you could also try bonjella gel, or ask your dentist for a gel that numbs the area. she may do well with icecream which will cool the area and also may have a numbing effect. anything warm may cause further pain, so stick to jello, ice cream and any cold pudding snacks, they will be okay as far as nutrition for the moment till she feels better. any of those over the counter tooth pain meds may numb the sores for now. sorry to hear she feels so poorly, lets hope it passes soon.

My mom used to paint the inside of my mouth with gentian violet when I was a child. You can gargle Betadine for the throat, but I'm not sure if it's suitable for children. Rather check with your pharmacist.

Try gargaling/rinsing several times a day with saltwater.
You might also try some Ambesol or something like that to ease the pain of the sores.
