How do you feel about protests at a funeral? Particularly a military funeral?

Please do not attack me, I am not planning a protest or a funeral. I just want to see other peoples veiw on this topic.

it is a damn shame that these men and women have to get up at 5 am and force themselves to exercise in the rain and snow and mud get shot at yelled at and even beat up if this S ierra H otel I ndigo T ango went on at your work place you would whine to the union that is un fair boo hoo and now we suddenly need someone to go beat up a bully that we ourselves as civilians are not trained to do and we ask these folks to rescue us in times of disaster

and now at the end of their tiring day or life as it is the question we have to piss on the ceremony that is intended to honor and thank them

No one it does not matter how influential he is in the community should protest a funeral. The mentality of the ones that do is highly questionable. They want to get their point across no matter who it hurts. I think that if it is a military funeral the ones protesting should be sent to the combat zone. Given a weapon with so many rounds and left in a hostile area by themselves. Maybe a week or two later check on them and see if they are still alive. If not too bad---- maybe no one will protest at their funeral.

All Funeral Protests are Dispicable, that isnt free speech by any means. Frankly I hope whomever protests at a funeral gets beaten severely by the Mourners.

There is a Time and place for protests, at a Persons funeral with the Family Grieving isnt the time nor place.

I think its absolutely despicable and without any morally redeeming value bordering on the obscene. If it weren't against the constitution I would recommend that such people be publicly flogged within an inch of their lives. And then forced to write a letter of apology to the families of the fallen soldiers, and then to every man and woman in the armed services for their dishonorable actions.

Protesting at a funeral especially a military funeral is the ultimate of insults. There is absolutely no honor in it and no good can ever come of it and it should be illegal. These people may have the right to protest but no right is absolute.

It's disgusting and rude. If you are going to protest, go stand outside the Whitehouse, or any other political place. Do not protest to the people who have no choice in where they go. I don't know a single serviceman who said, "Hey, I'm bored. Can you start a war so I can get deployed and possibly die?" Idiots like that need to realize that the military doesn't have a choice and their families should be able to mourn and bury their loved one without ignorant jackasses giving them a hard time.

People need to learn how to walk a mile in the shoes of another. You can never understand what a person is going through unless you become them. It's time to learn to have a little respect for people who are going through one of the hardest moments in their life.

Between the time that Congress adopted the "don't ask, don't tell" policy concerning homosexuals in the military services, there were about 7,000-plus active duty members who died before the attack on America of September 11, 2001. Members of the Westboro Baptist Church of Wichita, Kansas did not protest at any of the funerals of those deceased soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen. They have only protested at the services for those who have died since the beginning of the Global War On Terrorism.
This tells me that their chief grievance of America suffering the deaths of its service members because of our policy regarding homosexuals is an out and out fraud! Their protest is political. Not religious. Because of that they should be stripped of their non-profit status under the Internal Revenue Code and taxed into oblivion!

If it were my husband's funeral, i would use the protesters as an outlet for my grief by beating the sht out of them. How disrespectful! Maybe we should all show up at their mother's funerals and make a scene-would THAT be okay?

I think they are the lowest form of life on the planet.

I consider them in violation of calling themselves human beings.

A funeral is NO place for protest PERIOD!
It is time for family and friends to say good bye to their love ones.

That so called church needs to be level in my book.

You can protest anywhere else not a funeral.
That is not their time it is the family time.

If we have to start making laws to regulate it so be it.

I think it should be common sense and part of being a human being to respect others.
