My boyfriend today said that he needed space as he was stressed with work as he is setting up his own business. He says that he still loves me and that I have done nothing wrong but he feels as if he is about to self distruct. Does this mean we are finished i am so confused. Before setting up the business we were so happy Help

Sounds like he may just be stressed. Give hiom a few days and then call and see how he is doing? If he is not happy to hear from you and asks about you and all. I would have to say yes you are done.

Men don't generally multitask well. Sounds like he's trying to narrow his focus at the moment to try to make the business work. Any relationship has stresses and demands - so he's trying to lessen that load to concentrate on the other. I'd just keep in touch (without bothering him) - do a few nice things like bring him lunch or dinner as a surprise. Show how supportive you can be. If he's smart, he'll realize he can do more with you at his side than he can alone.

It means he needs some space.

Stop asking him about his day.

Stop asking him whats bothering him.

Just be there when he comes looking for your company.

At the end of the day, we don't want to rehash all the problems of the day. We want to forget them and to try to relax.

If you become another stress in his life, because of your reaction when he doesn't answer your questions, you will drive him away. Be a comfort, not a stress. Stop nagging him.

Be a cool drink. Be a soft chair. Be a warm puppy to his Charlie Brown.

there are 2 possibilities, 1 he does need space and he does still love you, or 2, he loves you but hes stressed so he feels he cant be with you and hes letting you down easy

This happened to me in February! My boyfriend of 6 months told me he needed space to concentrate on school. I found out he just wanted to ask out some girl in one of his classes... that's concentrating on school. He's just trying to let you down without being the bad guy. Seriously DON'T WAIT AROUND FOR HIM. I've heard all the "I still love you" crap. All my waiting went to nothing. He's not worth your time.

Just becuase he says he needs his space, does not mean that you two are finished, it just means that he might be alittle bit stressed out.

I think he just needs to be able to take care of his responsibilities. Be glad that he is responsible and is able to communicate with you. Don't take it so personally. Find things to keep yourself busy while he gets his ducks in a row.
