For bullets, or loaded ammo, try:
MidwayUSA.com
CheaperthanDirt.com
Gunbroker.com
Both Midway & CTD sell in bulk, and so do many dealers on Gunbroker.

I don't think buying a thousand bullets of that caliber is ever going to be cheap. Maybe CHEAPER, but not cheap.

I'm sure you don't want to hear that, and you'll probably give me a thumbs down, but its true.

Even if you find 1,000 .40 cal bullets online, the price you'll have to pay to get them shipped will be enormous when you consider the weight of the item.

If you need it fast, check your local sporting goods store or ammo stocking Wal-Mart for Remington UMC. It's good stuff, not expensive, but not as cheap as Wolf, and it's sold in 250 round packs for about $45-50 each.

Are you talking about reloads? Factory ammo? or just the projectiles used for reloading?

You could buy a mold and some flux, and go by the local tire dealership to bum some old wheelweights. That's pretty cheap.
