I believe that religion has divided people and brought about more harm than good for the cause of Christ. Even in biblical times, there were the Pharisees, the Sadducees, and all the other various sects. Each had their own set of rules to follow and each thought their's was the best. However, when Jesus came and went against their laws it brought about controversy and anger.
I have attended various churches and some of them still behave like that. If one is not a part of their congregation or beliefs than one is definitely not where one should be. How sad!!! The way to the Father is through the Son. Jesus shed His blood for our sins and the forgiveness of them. All one has to do is believe. No where does God say we have to be part of a religion. Just believe in Him and become a part of God's family.

I can't argue with you about not wanting to be part of a religion. Just don't let it keep you from believing in the Lord Jesus Christ. God's blessings on you.

Religion is always going to divide some. If you set aside religious views and let Jesus be your Lord and The Holy Spirit be your teacher, and God be the Father, you will attain to truth as God sees you are able to accept. God and Truth are the same thing, so if there are those that have been instructed to a certain level of understanding and they base a religion on that, then when a higher truth come down from God it will cause division. It is better to not get into listening to man's views on God and get into God's Spirit. He will teach you what you need to know.

This is my own personal view on the topic. You do not have to accept it all.

There is a big difference between 'religion' and 'spirituality' even though they are often mixed up in people's minds.

Religion is a system of organised beliefs and practices with answers given to you. Usually a sacred text is used and interpreted for you.

Spirituality is a personal journey where you experience how you are connected to your Higher Power. Here you find your own truth and may still interpret sacred writings for yourself.

Religion only exists if practiced with evil lies that want to divide people. If people would study and decide on their own what to believe, and left ever one to do the same the world would be a happier place to live.

Muslims (and Islam) say Jesus was a prophet but they reject all His teachings ....that is hypocrisy.

They reject Christ's diety;
they deny his claim to be the Son of God;
they deny his death on the cross...
they deny His resurrection..
They deny Jesus is the Christ/ Messiah...
In fact, the Quran says : "Allah has no son".
Need I say more...?

Don't be deceived. The Islamic god is totally different than the God of Jesus Christ.

The Bible calls Muhammed and those like him false prophets:
"Who is a liar but he that denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is anti-Christ, that denies the Father and the Son. He that denies the Son, the same has not the Father." (I John 2:22)

It is a lie, with one exception. But first consider that whatever you propose as a solution, outside of that which is true, only becomes part of the problem. Pluralism for instance, where all faiths are equal, excludes those who believe truth is exclusive by nature.

What did Jesus say was the source of false religion, and the father of those who promote it?

(John 8:44) "Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it."

And what is his future:

(Rev 20:10) "And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever."

In contrast, while "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I [Jesus] am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." (John 10:10).

While all religions essentially teach man may merit Heaven or the equivalent by his own works, the Bible teaches no one can become good enough to be with God (Ps. 5: Rm. 3), nor can God forgive without justice being satisfied,

But "Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation [perfect payment] for our sins."

"And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world." (1 John 4:10, 14).

it is in the promised Messiah that we see the greatest mercy and grace of God, as He foretold over 700 years prior to the fact that the future ruler of believing Israel would be born in a tiny nondescript town called Bethlehem (Micah 5:2), of a virgin (Isaiah 7:13; 9:6), and serve others selflessly, and then become our scapegoat (cf. Lev. 16) and blood atonement (cf. Lev. 17:4; 11) for our sins.

"All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all." (Isaiah 53:6), and then rise from the dead (Ps. 16:8-11; Acts 2:25-39) as your present Savior and future judge.

What you do therefore with Jesus reveals where you will spend Eternity!

To Him give all the prophets witness, that through His name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins." (Acts 10:43)

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." (Rom 10:9).

"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." (Acts 4:12).

"Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;" (Acts 3:19).

"He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him." (John 3:36).

May you choose Jesus, and choose life, Heaven and not Hell!
