ALL brainwashing is bad.
And that, after all, is what religion is.
It should be outlawed completely.

I am not Christian, Jewsish, Muslim, or anything, really, but religion has always taken a great toll on me. I think that if you put too much thought into it, it can be bad for you. If you think about trying to find the truth, you'll go insane. Find a religion that you believe in. The reason I personally choose to not have any certain religion is because I was asking so many questions that had the same answer.

Depends on if you're a woman or not and how you feel about patriarchal views. Some women believe that anything that forces them to have to be inferior to a man in any way is an affrontedly ridiculous thing, while others believe its for the good of all "man-kind". Just depends on what God puts on your heart.

Humans need a moral compass. Unfortunately, most people never give any thought as to why it is needed. Instead, they accept the rote training that they received. From my point of view, it is better for them to learn why they should be good -- but if they can't learn, I would prefer that they still be good even if for the wrong reason (belief in God, for the betterment fo the State, in order to get laid, etc).

Well I don't fit into any of the categories, but I think it can be either good or bad. It becomes bad if they become so obsessed all they think about is converting people and how those who aren't their religion should be destroyed etc. etc. But if they're open to other religions and are fine if you don't worship the same being or way, then I suppose it's good.

As an Atheist I think it depends on the person and what they use religion for in their lives.

If they use it as a "guide" to be a better person and to deal with life it's good.

If they use it to keep other people in line or to justify their own bigotry or personal opinions then it's wrong.

If you adopt the principles of peace, love, and harmony, then it can be a very good thing. However, cant people do that without religion in the first place?

Religion is good for a person, because it teaches us many good things!

Whenever choice is removed, it is bad.

Religion does not give you choice. You either believe in it completely, or you are out. This makes it inherently bad.

Whenever something can not change, it is bad.

Religions are sacrosanct. The doctrines can never change. That makes them inherently bad.
