It would be better - most of the worlds wars and suffering has occured because of the bickering about who's god is better and more superior.
I personally don't believe in a god, but what you say is true.
Sadly it will never happen.

Wow, another Bible-thumping Christian regurgitating mindless drivel. I know I cannot explain this simply enough for you to understand, but here goes nothing:
1. Yes, the world would be better off if everybody believed in one God only. Also if they believed in only one of anything (religion, ice cream flavors, sexual positions, anything and everything). Because different beliefs are what cause disputes, and disputes are what cause fights, and fights are what cause wars, and wars are what kill people and destroy nations. So, yes, let's all believe EXACTLY the same thing about everything. No more thinking outside the box. We all have to agree on what to believe and we all have to follow the rules.
2. But wait. You've already decided that the "true God" is "the Jesus' father". AND I DISAGREE. So one of us is going to have to change his opinion, and it won't be me. So if you want unity of religious belief so we can have world peace, you have to change. I'll send you the paperwork needed to join my religion, but you have to renounce your God first.
3. Anyone else in favor of getting rid of all the extra gods in the world so we can have just one that we all believe in? Any ideas on how we can reach an agreement. Hopefully by the end of the day so I can know where I'll be attending our new universal house of worship next week?

If all people believe and worship the only true God, the Father of Jesus, Satan will surely get angry. And if it happens he will do all things to make us fall into temptation and wrongdoings, he will persecute all of us. What the world would be? Can all people stand in God's side?
So we see, it is not just believing in God that will make the World peaceful. However it will temporarily make things better. The permanent solution is to remove Satan and his demons in the scene, they are the source of injustices and all evil that happens. Also wicked people who do not repent to their wrongdoings. God will remove them soon by means of His Kingdom, with His anointed King, Jesus.

Your question is laudable indeed.
But your note, acting as a 'rider' spoils the show!
God is one and only one without any wife or son.
Every one would accept it as quite reasonable and convenient to concentrate upon.
In the beginning mankind ws one community only.
Vested interests for their own benefits created schisms and divisions.
Tow ards the end of the world, once again, only one true and perfect religion would rule the world!

In my opinion, it really doesn't matter, for the simple fact even if everyone believed in only one god, you will still have several different religions conflicting about the history of mankind and the beliefs what god intended for us and then you would still have those who don't believe their is a god, so the question is, would the world be better off if everyone believed in god and only believed in one religion.

We do all believe in one God. The only difference is that we live in different cultures. The only way I can explain this is to look at your hand. The palm is One God and the fingers are the different cultures. All cultures believe in One God. I hope you can see this.

Yes and God was negligent in not sending 200 Jesus speaking ALL TONGUES to all the ethnic groups and confines of the Earth. It didn't happen cause God was invented by men and men have no universal power. And there is no Universal God or power

No, the world would not be better. There would be less diversity, and everyone would have that one God engrained in their head from day one. Free choice is what makes this world great!
Sure parents raise their children in a specific religion, but when those children grow up they have the choice to change.
I think there would be more chaios because there would always be a faction of poeple with different beliefs that would want to break away

this would make things very boring in my humble opinion.
didnt you ever hear the word DIVERSITY.
i thought that your bible taught compassion, acceptance and kindness.
five of my best friends have different faiths and for some reason not one of us have tried to kill each other (without the assistance of halo at least). the fact is that we each openly accept each others belefs and they certainly make for some interesting conversation points. i myself dont have a faith (but i think that the dalai lama is cool)
heres a thought: show comassion, accept people, dont shun them off just because they read a book by a different author.
whenever you meet someone who doesnt go to church or goes to a different one don't try to "re-educate" them. dont force your beliefs on the rest of the world. just show some tolerance...
the truth.
