The stock answer for the presence of evil seem to be "free will". The theory is that if we weren't free to choose evil, we wouldn't be free. But if in heaven there is no evil, does that mean free will is gone ? Or, if there IS the choice to choose evil in heaven, won't heaven eventually become corrupted ?
Please don't insult me for asking the question, just answer the question. If you don't have an answer, please disregard the question.

Dragon and others, I don't believe in the Christian concept of Heaven & Hell, precisely because of contradictions such as this. That is why I am interested in hearing from those who believe in heaven. I specifically asked for answers, NOT insults, and I guess I should have specified NO INSULTS from atheists either.

Jimmy TS, thanks for your answer, but that rather PROVES that free will can exist without evil. So God could have made us with free will and no evil, but CHOSE not to.
Without evil, we could still choose from a variety of good things as you suggested in your answer. Therefore, we would have free will (not be like robots) and there would still be no evil.

Cyrill - the fundamentalist teaching is that NONE are good, that all are evil and deserve to go to hell, the only supposed difference in the fundamentalist teaching is that Christians are FORGIVEN, not good. So there will not be "good" people in heaven, just those whose evil has been covered in blood. The "forgiven" ones will be in heaven, not the "good" ones. So I suppose by your reasoning, evil will still exsist in heaven, it will just all be forgiven.

Evil is just the disobedience of God's commandments. Since Satan was cast out of heaven for disobeying, I would assume that evil can exist in heaven... just not for long :)

Adam and Eve were perfect and good and unashamed without knowing the knowledge of the difference between good and evil until the old serpent tempted them to eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. God was their protection and provision and they knew nothing else. They had perfect love which casts out all fear.
It is not that free will in heaven is gone, but the knowledge of evil is gone. After the 1000 year reign and Satan is loosed for a little while and then finally thrown into the Lake of Fire after the Great White Thrown Judgment of the lost then all knowledge of evil will be gone.
It always bothered me that during the 1000 year reign and people knowing the Lord because He'll be reigning with a rod of iron that people would still refuse to accept Jesus and live righteously. And after the 1000 years Satan would be unchained and allowed once again to tempt mankind before the final judgment of the lost where Satan is finally destroyed in the Lake of Fire.
If God is going to wipe away every tear, then God is going to wipe away all knowledge of evil.

You make an excellent point. Since free will cannot be to blame for evil, I guess how we view things and our values really are what makes something 'evil', isn't that true?
If the Bible taught (and I don't follow its teachings) that there was no free will in heaven, then there wouldn't have been a Satan or any of his follower angels (demons), would there?
Further, noone is free if they are slated for destruction for deciding the 'wrong' thing. Therefore, there is no true freedom if you accept the Bible's teachings. Bible followers must strive to be a 'good and faithful slave', 'serving' their God with their 'whole heart, whole mind, and whole soul'... So which ones out there are lying and saying they think free will is any kind of freedom to them in such a threat condition?
Clearly, many people give false answers, and it's up to our own thinking process to see truth.
Bright days to you,
Krodin

Yes, there is free will in heaven. Only those who are washed by the blood of Jesus can enter heaven. When Jesus comes back for the church, He will transform their mortal bodies into immortal, glorified, incorruptible, resurrected bodies, like His own resurrected body. In that new body, a person would have no more sin nature, for sin cannot enter heaven. The person can still choose what to do and what to eat, but all the desires will be good desires. So in heaven, there won't be robots either. Rather, those who have exercised their free will to choose God while on earth, will get what they choose for eternity. Hope that makes sense. :)

There will be nothing in the city that is sinful. The place where God and the Lamb sit will be there.
The servants He owns will serve Him.
They will see His face and His name will be written on their foreheads.
There will be no night there. There will be no need for a light or for the sun because the Lord God will be their light. They will be leaders forever.

Free will nonexists for humans in Heaven according to the bible. It says in the bible (I can't remember the exact verses but look it up) in heaven we will be made perfect. Perfect meaning christian perfect, like a robot of do gooders, so no, we won't have free will (that's if it even exists)

Yes yes yes, Earth is a Hell.
If want to go to heaven you have to do is simply kill other people on the hell by Suicide Bombing. Otherwise God will not accept you.
