I'm a Christian. It's not that I refuse to answer this question; it's simply a matter of I DON'T KNOW. God, in his or her infinite wisdom, didn't share this tidbit of knowledge with me. That's what makes me human and God, well, God. There are an awful lot of things that I don't know, but I believe in God anyway ... that's called faith.
Sorry I couldn't answer your question, truly.

This is one of those questions the Bible does not give us the answer to.
What we do know is, God doesn't make robotic creatures or beings that have no thinking mind of their own. The angels apparently all had free will, This one particular lifted himself up in pride, and rebelled against God, taking some of the other angels with him.
People assume that because God has the foreknowledge of this happening, that He would not have created him or those rebelling angels. Our assumption is incorrect.
What we do know is that all things were made by Him, and for Him, to the end that He will be glorified. We may not see the entire picture yet, but God shows His glory in saving man.

Excellent question. One I had for years and years.
Do you really want an answer? Do you really?
There is one, but you have to have a broken heart and contrite spirit in order to accept it.
And it cannot be written in a little YahooAnswer box.
The truth is found in the book I read that explains what all of Revelation means in plainness. It explains Satan and God and the purpose of being here, and where Satan comes from and all about free will and "eternal suffering."
Once you understand who Satan is, everything begins to make sense. Here are a few excerpts, and if you are truly seeking, the book can set you free.
In chapter 18, the true “suffering” and “burning” that will take place when Christ returns to the earth to reign is described in detail as it really is. No longer will the “hell, fire, and damnation” preaching of the “false prophets” make sense. No longer will the esoteric and fantasized explanations of the Apocalypse hold water, when given the explanations in this book received from the mouth of the original author himself.
Apocalypse in Greek means disclosure. It is a term applied to the disclosure of something to certain, privileged persons that is hidden from the masses. John’s original title is modernly referred to as the Apocalypse of John. Since Biblical scholars had no clue what was meant in his metaphorical text, they agreed to name it in the English Bible: the Revelation of St. John the Divine, or the Book of Revelation of Jesus Christ, the Messiah.
...No one who reads this book will walk away as the same person. Its enlightenment will enhance the truth seeker’s perception, and confuse the skeptic’s arguments. Windows will be fashioned in the walls of darkened boxes in which most people live their lives, from which a light will illuminate the reality that they indeed live in a box.
The masterful way in which John wrote his words is revealed in this book by commentary that supports the truths he expected to disclose (Apocalypse in Greek) to the people of the latter days. His truths confound all those who have set themselves up above others as leaders “called of God” to reveal the truth to the world. God cannot be a respecter of persons and maintain the due benevolence given to such a title. If He has something to say, He will say it to one and all the same.
Finally, the Apocalypse has come. The truth is revealed. And to the courageous who read it from the beginning to the end, this book will promise the realization of the profound statement: The truth will set you free.
Have courage and be set free!
(And the best part is, the book too is FREE.)

Can two thousand years of intelligent discussion by extremely learned men be suddenly undone? I have my doubts.
1. The consequence of giving in to the havoc caused by Satan is the complete and utter destruction of the soul, total separation from God for eternity. There is a way out that was freely given. God's judgement is just and if He wishes to make concessions to any He is perfectly within His Divine right to do so. It is also within His right to condemn. The created has no right to question the Creator.
2. Satan chose to make himself a god, the very same thing so many continue to do. The sacrifice of Satan was not done by God, it was done by Satan himself. The free will given to Satan in this matter serves him just as well as it does man. Is there any indication that he would have chosen a different path under different circumstances?
The assumption that salvation would have been withheld from Satan for confession is not even tenuous. His time has passed, just as time will pass for man. In full knowledge of the sentence of death he shows no evidence of remorse by continuing the work he knows is a failure, continuing to contribute to the destruction of creation.
God has foreknowledge of all things. He also has the right to predestine as He may see fit. God is the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit....not the Father and Satan. There is one God. All that He knew and allowed to happen is perfectly justified.
You show great concern for the well being of the one who would usurp power and destroy. At the same time you attribute evil to God. This is the heart of your failure to understand.
Repent. Change your heart toward God and confess to Him your sins. Believe in the one He sent to pay the penalty of sin, the one who your eyes should be on, the Son of God. He will save you from the fate you describe.
Your concern over the fate of Satan will not buy a lesser sentence from him for he is impotent to do such a thing. Satan could not care less for you. The fate of your own soul is the most important consideration for the duration of your physical life.

God can discern future occurrences, but just because he can, doesn't mean he chooses to do so all the time - if you could juggle, would you do it day-in-day-out?
Don't forget that PERFECT Adam and Eve chose to sin, they had perfect minds and chose, knowing full well the consequences, to disobey god (hence, 'Free will').
If God had simply destroyed Satan, Adam & Eve after they rebelled, the question Satan posed against gods right to rule would still have remained and others may have been mislead, Gods superior justice discerned that Satan's challenge must be proved wrong beyond any shadow of doubt for all creation to see, all this suffering in the world is doing just that, the bible says that Satan is the ruler of this world (1John 5:19), God let him take over for a while, just to prove him wrong to all creation and fully resolve the situation.
God did however, provide a 'ransom sacrifice' through Jesus (John 3:16), so that all those accepting Gods rule might attain life according to his original purpose for his creation (even resurrecting those who have died) - Gods love is shown in his creation of us in the first place and in his sacrificing his first born creation [Jesus] so that, even though we were all deserving of death, we might live.
There are many more intricate details to this whole incident however and I don't have time to reason everything.

By your logic, God also should not have created any more people after Adam and Eve because all men have sinned and thus done harm to the world. Liars, theives, murderers, all inflict pain on another person. If, as you say, a God of love would not have created Satan, the same God would not have created man. Don't you think God knew that Adam and Eve were going to disobey Him? Of course God knew that Satan was going to have to leave heaven and would corrupt many people. God loves us all so much that He creates us in order to give them the chance for life and the choice about which kingdom we want to serve.
Without Satan's presence on this earth, there would be no free will. There would be only God and His laws and we would have no choice but to obey Him because there would be no sin in us. Where is the free will in that? No, Satan is here, and thus was created, because God's creations needed to be given the option to serve God or to reject Him. God does not want servants by default, but by choice.
Besides, Satan has very limited power over God's people. It is only when He is invited in by sinful actions and rebellion of God that he can gain any sort of strong hold.

You are shallow. Quit wallowing in folly.
God has an understanding that you don't have. When He created man, He did not equip man with "...knowledge of good and evil...", man would only acquire this knowledge by eating fruit from the "forbidden tree" . satan (sic) was not created like man; unlike man, the sucker possesed knowledge; he and his bandwagon had been around long before man came on the scene. They began a rebellion against orders in heaven, waged war against their brothers and insulted the Almighty. A General by the name of "Mike" (Rev. 12:7-9) fought and prevailed against the sucker stripping him of his heavenly body at which point the obnoxious liar dropped down at the speed of lightning. (Years later an Eye Witness who watched the duel recounted details to "credible" lawyers, tax advisors, fishermen and general folk - (Luke 10:18)
When the sucker noticed that God had created mankind, he devised a selfish secret plan to deceive man into joining his camp to work with him in his rebellion. The sucker's dilemma was man's innocence. As long as man remained without "knowledge" the sucker was handicapped.
To answer your questions
1. God did not cause man to suffer the consequencies of satan's misdeeds. Man actually lived for "a period of time" without the consequencies of the devil and to this day things would have been the same if man had not given in to the devil's conmanship.
2. The potter decides what vessels are for whatever use. If you were a designer for instance your creations would be for different uses; a shirt for one use, pants for another. Shoes for the feet, a hat for the head and underwear for private parts etc. Why should some fool arise and question you as to why you condemmed one of your creations (shoes) to suffer the unfair use of stepping into filthy places, picking up all the **** and dirt and inhaling foul smell from the feet?
Get over it. The lake of burning sulphur was "knowingly" prepared for the devil and such as consort with him. Unless you atheists quit acting rebellious "knowingly" you will be condemned and have a share in his fate.

God created a perfect angel. God gave His angels freedom to think and reason and choose. Lucifer (Satan) let his beauty and perfection make him conceited and vain filled with selfishness. He ended up becoming envious of God's strength and power and resented Him. He then plotted evil to overthrow the kingdom of God.
God did not create Lucifer as evil but allowed the potential for sin. While God cannot commit sin, He doesn’t take it away from those who can. When Lucifer chose to rebel, he instantly became the author of sin. Evil is the result of a free-will choice by Lucifer.

The answer is ....we don't know why, that is for God to say. We can speculate all we want but the Bible does not tell us God's reason for this. His way of thinking and reason is far beyond our comprehension. He could have made a perfect world with no way for us to sin or the angels but He chose to give us free will of our own. God is love and He wants to show us examples of His love for us. He did not want to create robots with no choice in the matter....He wants our love, honor and devotion based on our own desire to do so and He wants us to obey Him but He gives us a choice although there are consequences for not doing so. God is also just and righteous. Satan chose to honor himself and rebel against God.
Would you rather have a friend or marriage partner that has no choice to obey and love you or is it better, more special, if they choose to?
It is not evil or sinful for God to give us or Satan a choice...it is we who choose to disobey a perfect God. Parents know this all too well...you can train your children to do what is right and good but it is up to them to decide if they will do this or not...to obey you or not.

Christians have taken the concept of "God" and "Satan" and have mis-understood it, it so appears.
God is not about Judgements and punishing; nor is "Satan" a being to be feared.
"Satan" is the symbolism or metaphoric descriptor of mankinds inner self, the Ego or liar.
Spirituality is about growth in self and the Ego is what lies to mankind teaching them that "power" is absolute and so on.
The bible symbolicaly warned of the ego by characterizing "Satan" and even Characterized "God" and did so with high distortion by mis-interpretations.
In Revelation we appaer to see a war of all wars appraoching, IF we elect to read all of it in Literal form and this is a huge mistake as the Bible was Never a literal idea but one of symbolism and this is No Mistake.
Revelation speaks clearly of good things to come.

The only answer I can give you is: "I dont know" You've posted a great perplexing question. This is where a Christian's faith comes in. We are encouraged not to 2nd guess God. Christians are also to believe that God has a great plan and not to doubt him. No Christian will be able to answer that question. They answer with frustration because you touched the "faith nerve". We know we cannot "prove" God to the masses. Too many try to and set bad examples. I am sorry that the so called "christians" give you hateful answers. We are supposed to be a beacon to the world. Not shut people off.
