my special letter came as quite the surprise, as my grandmother mailed it to me, she has never done this before, or since, and It was when I was having a particularly hard time in my life in which she also lived through the experience when she was my age, she spoke to me letting me know she understood what I was dealing with and gave me words of encouragement. You must understand that I speak with her regularly even still while she has alzheimers and I am one of the few she recognizes, and I think it is because of so many similarities between us, I really appreciated that letter more than any other that I have ever received in my life.

do subpoenas count? Let's see it was from a law firm provided by the sherrifs department. I received it about two weeks ago. Oh I so plan to respond, by appearance. It was special because apparently my ex hid the fact that we were served for a judgement about 1 1/2 years ago so now I get to go prove I was never 'really' served and hopefully he'll end up doing time over it! HA

My brother was killed in Iraq and he wrote me a letter and sent it two days before.. After I found out I was devastated... then in the mail two days after his funeral his final letter arrived. I still have not opened it!! but I have it and I look at it every day.. Now I am in Iraq and i carry it in my pocket every time I go. Sounds weird but its my strength over here!

last month, when my mother-in-law passed away, our family received a card from her family saying that they were thinking of us in this hard time. It was really nice.

My grandmother had a stroke last year and is completely paralyzed on her left side. Just a few months after having the stroke, she signed her name to my birthday card. Her handwriting was shaky and quite crooked, but she signed it herself. :)
