Because they don't know what they're getting themselves into.
Most often, Muslim men court non-Muslim women and steadily pick away at whatever faith the woman has until she doubts her own faith and adopts the one her "man" thinks is right.
That happens with vulnerable women all the time, whether it's Islam, Christianity, Judaism, or even Wicca.
Paula Abdul (Muslima) converted to Judaism at the behest of her Jewish husband. There's one example of a well known celebrity who converts to conform to her husband's wishes.
Katie Holmes converted from Christianity to Scientology because her charismatic husband talked her into it. Don't be so impressed by anyone who chooses Islam. People leave Islam by the millions every year of their own free will.
Women who are disappointed with their relationships with men tend to choose Islam because it relieves them of the depression associated with rejection. Many women become nuns for this very purpose as well.

I haven't noticed any woman converting to Islam but I have met large numbers who have become atheist.
And they have come from all religions including lots of Muslims.
Why are large numbers of people converting to atheism? May be because they have grown a mind.

These women you are talking about are the "weak" ones in Western Society that are easily manipulated and controlled... They are just looking for someone to tell them what to do...
Even if it's an Arab man, these women will listen to anything he tells them... and the Arab man is all to happy to force the woman to convert to Islam and marry him just so he can get his green card...

I assume you can give statistics to support this contention, as I have not met a single person (much less any woman) who has converted from ANY faith to ANY fiath

I have only heard of women being apostates of Islam.
So I think you have your facts wrong - women are sensibly leaving a brutish and mysogenistic sect.

IT IS NEWS THAT MANY WOMEN (PRESUMABLY CHRISTIANS) ARE CONVERTING TO ISLAM.
WHATEVER MAY BE IN BIBLE AND QURAN CHRISTIAN WOMEN ENJOY MORE FREEDOM THAN IN ISLAM.IT IS AN EVOLUTION MORE OF SOCIAL THAN RELIGEOUS.
