Lately I have noticed lots of questions and responses about Christmas and it's pagan origins. What are some other beliefs, customs, and/or traditions that dishonor the God of the Bible?

Any custom / belief / tradition that takes love out of the picture is dishonoring God, even God's own laws!

I know, you gasp and are ready to hit the thumbs-down button lol, but wait, Jesus gave a story about that very thing. Remember the Good Samaritan?

In the story a man is going down the road and gets mugged. He's lying there bleeding and first a priest and a Levite pass him by and don't help him. Then of course the Samaritan comes by and does help him.

Here's the pertinent part to your question. The priest and the Levite don't touch the man because he's bleeding ... if they were to touch the man's blood they would be unable to perform their rituals and such for an entire week - God's law said so. So rather than be "unclean" for a week, they chose to let the man die!

See what I mean about what dishonor's God? Putting the tradition / customer / belief before love.

Well, traditions that did not originate from God, for example, Halloween, Birthdays, and Valentines day, things that, like u mentioned, have pagan origins. These holidays wre not observed by early christians. In fact the only 2 birthdays mentioned in the bible werent exactly honorable to God, becuz there was death given in these two celebratins. dont u think God put these two example in the bible for a reason? And alot of People may think their just traditions, but remember what is mentioned in Matthew 15:3. there Jesus stated- Why is it you also overstep the commandent of God because of your tradition?

Many people feel that when they die they go to heaven or hell. This is not true. The Bible tells us that when we die we go to mankinds common grave (translated hell, sheol or hades). To float away as a spirit dishonors God, who told Adam that he would die. Satan lied by telling Eve that she would not die.
The Trinity. This also is dishonoring God. He is the Almighty God, Universal Sovereign and Grand Creator. He is not part of a triune god.
Isaiah 42 v 8

Easter celebrations are taken from both Pagan and Jewish holidays (Spring equinox and Passover, respectively). Did you know that the Jewish people originally hid matzoh and let the children try to find it? Sounds a lot like a certain egg tradition I know of. Easter celebrations are every bit as pagan as they are Christian - even the timing of Easter is based on the cycle of the moon. The Christian wedding ceremony has roots in Paganism. Remember, what we now call paganism was just what people believed before man orgnized other religion. When religion was organized, they used the rituals and holidays they already knew, and added their new beliefs. Nothing wrong with that, it just needs to be acknowledged once in a while.

Putting the love of money, ones self, or anything material first or before the love of God. Satanic rituals is another. Having hatred in your heart for another. A lot of the TV shows have disrespect for and dishonor God.

Well, most obviously the entire religious right - the antihomosexual and antiatheist bigotry, the anti-abortion rights movement, the creationist movement, etc. The eagerness to become part of the political right wing and the willingness to serve as a tool of the Republican party also dishonor Christian traditions.

God will not be mocked and we have an advocate in Christ. I really don't think God is dishonored by any man. They are dishonoring themselves of deceiving themselves when they even attempt to create symbols and idols, to other Gods. My God, the God of the Bible has it all under control. He has allowed this Planet to get to the point it is. It is spinning out of control but God has His hand on the delete button, and is only waiting for those that will to surrender. All of the satanic, or even subtle non-god garbage that you see going on today is a final flexing of satan's weakened muscles. God has been using satan's own power to defeat him. One by one we come to the Lord and The Holy Spirit instructs us. Until we are on God's side we do not even see the evil in the World. Look for those that God would give a Word to, out of you.

The only celebration the bible tells us to acknowledge is the Memorial of Jesus death.
Therefore, most all other holidays are dishonoring GOD.

well
first and foremost,

If you don't believe in GOD and
that HE is the one and only GOD,
that is dishonoring him.

there are also so many other ways to dishonor him,
and it's so simple.
It's to not follow his commandments, his rules.

GOD gives us many commandments
in the bible that he tells us all to do and not to do.
By choosing to listen to him or not,
if you don't obey him,
that is dishonoring him.

it's as simple as that.

the most important thing is to believe him,
and follow his path.
