Mac OS has worked on Intel computers for several years. Apple abandoned Motorola several years ago and now uses Intel-based motherboards.

However, there will probably never be a version of Mac OS that will (legally) run on non-Apple hardware. Apple considers themselves to be a hardware company, and Mac OS is how they sell their computers. Also, the majority of the problems with Windows and stability come from trying to support thousands of pieces of hardware in infinite combinations. The reason Macs 'just work' is because Apple controls the hardware and the software. They only have to support the hardware they make or have licensed. This is why the Mac experience is considered superior. If they tried to release a version of the OS that was hardware independent, not only would it be just as buggy as Windows, but it would decrease the value of Mac OS on Mac computers, which would destroy their business model.

Just a note of interest.
Apple doesn't discuss any speculation on New Product Releses. They generally will have a lot of fan fare and announce anything like you are talking about.
Apple does have an Intel chipped computer that has the capability to run OSX and Windows on the same machine.
However, to date there has been no information relesed on any Operating System that can run OSX and Windows on a Standard PC.
The reason is using a Mac it requires other software to be able to run in the Windows Inviorment and requires Bootcamp, or Parallels.

The Intel Version of OS X has been included on every Intel-based Apple computer since they were introduced last year.

If you mean a Stand Alone version of OS X for "non-Apple" computers, no. It is illegal to install OS X on any other platform.

Yes they are phasing out old Power PC (non-Intel) Macs and they did announce that OS X some point is gonna be Inteled Macs only with no fat binary remain.

Apple released Leopard, their competition for Microsoft's Vista this month, and they (Apple) claim it's the best ever. So, are you asking if MAC operating systems will run on a Windows PC? The answer is a resounding NO.

I read a news item that said this was their intention, but I am not sure when this is going to take place.
