The whole concept of being god's chosen surrounds the fact that god needed representatives among the human community that others could look to in this world. As well, god needed a community in this world in which the commands of god could be carried out. Also, being "god's chosen" is a concept developed by those who wrote and edited the bible so many many years ago.

Whatever the case may be, would everyone really want what the Jewish people have faced in their time? They are the single most persecuted and hated people group on the Earth. They have been killed, burned, ostracized and persecuted systematically almost since their inception as a people (dating back to biblical Hebrew stories). Be thankful you do not have this supposed designation.

The question is, Chosen for what? Angels tend to be the same color as the person who painted them, because no one sees what an angel really looks like, do they? People from Israel are middle-eastern, not white, so they have somewhat darker skin, and that's why some people think that Jesus had darker skin. And we're all God's people.
