Anything?...

-I don't know of any accounts of Jesus having formal weekly meetings.
-He never mixed meat and dairy and never said anything about changing this after his sacrifice was made.
-He also celebrated Jewish holy days and never mentioned that it would be okay to drop these...
-Oh, and of course he advocated giving up all of one's possessions...
-He never indicated that the event of his own birth was particularly important.
-He never had any involvement in "speaking in tongues".
-He never so much as mentioned the word "saint".
-He implies divorce should be forbidden.
-He never mentioned any rapture, nor does he ever actually mention coming back.

I'm not even aware that Jesus is ever recorded to have said that Gentiles could get into heaven...

So, what did come from him directly that lasts today?...

He prayed constantly. He woke before sunrise so he could sneak away to pray uninterrupted; he prayed for hours on end; he stayed up all night in prayer before making the most important decisions (namely the selection of the 12 apostles and the night before his death); he gave us an outline of what a proper prayer should consist of.

If there is one lesson that most Christians miss in the life of Christ, it is the necessity of a strong prayer life.

oh boy?
1. No Jesus never said to have formal weekly meetings he did however said not to foreget the gathering of fellow believers. He left that up to the apostles.
2. Regarding food, he said he was the end of the law. Really also in other places Jesus also stated the Jewish Law is dismissed as far as sacerfices. Much of the Law was still to be followed. The apostles repeated what was to be followed in other books they wrote.
3. Ones possesions was to point out what is more important Gods laws and will or your own junk. It was to show God can provide by means of his organization. The rich man had an issue that his belongings were more important than helping others.
4. yeah speaking in toungs was a gift at pentocost. It was ment for a purpose to preach the news about Jesus to the surrounding nations around the mediterrian. It was a gift that would come to an end.
5. Yes divorce should be forbidden, however it is still acording to the old law, it is on grounds of adultury by the other mate. and of course if it is a life threatening situation.
6. No he did not say rapture, but if you do look closely there is reference to two types of resurrections.
7. Gentiles would go to heaven because it is out of the nations tribe and tougnges/ which is called the israel of god. not literal israel but persons from around the world in spiritural sense.

What comes form him today, well, its his part of a Kingdom arrangement, that will continue gaterhing people as part of the goverment. then all other goverments and religions will be destroyed. whew!

Hexley,

Some of the other answer es addressed most of the points made in your Question, but regarding Christs return, he certainly does state a few places that he will return. Here are a few verses (you should read more than the verse itself to keep everything in context):
"He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him--the Word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day." John 12:47.
"For as Lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be." Matthew 24:27 (see also Luke 17:24; almost the same quote)
"When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. Matthew 25:31 (read vs. 31-46, Jesus not only says he is coming back, but he talks about what he will do when he gets here)

Regarding salvation for the Gentiles; It is a little early in the morning , and I cant put my finger on exact quotes of Christ regarding this, but let's go back to the construction of the temple in Jerusalem. It was divided into three sections; The Holy of Holies, where only the High Priest went once a Year on the "Feast of the Atonement"; The court of the Jews, where Jewish men, and boys who had come of age worshiped; and the Court of the Gentiles, where provision was made for the Gentiles (and Jewish women) to worship. Gentile men had not formally accepted the old covenant which required circumcision (Can't blame them) Jewish women had no penis so they could not be circumcised according to the covenant either.

Note that provision was made for faithful Gentiles, and they were held to be on par with Jewish women.

I hope this helps,

Mark

Salvation, His blood was shed for redemption of man to fellowship with God.
Humility, He taught that being humble was a virtue
Self denial, His life was totally self denial so that God might be glorified
Love of others rather than self, the sacrifice of His life for us is the example to love others as God loves us
Obedience to God, He showed us total obedience to God in His death on the cross
Forgiveness, He told us many times to forgive so that we might be forgiven
Joy, He showed us how to find joy in all that we do, Knowledge, of God's will for us
Trust, in God for everything He will provide
Service, He taught us through His life of service to God
How to pray,
Power He taught us to use the power of His name to revoke all evil and to know that we can do all things through Him.

All of these and more are directly attributed to Jesus and are applicable in our lives today as they were 2000 year ago and as they will be 2000+ or less in the future.

Communion is false teachings of the Roman Catholic Chruch who have misinterpreted the bible, but it is not Jesus Chrit who taught it.. Communion is not blical. The bread and wine which is being used by the priest for the communion represent the body of Christ which shall not be eaten and drink but the belief in Jesus Christ.
