Specialized Bikes just brought out some new rides for 2008 with Avid Juicy 5 Ultimate. I have Avid Juicy 7 brakes on my ride from 2007.
I have now discovered that there are Juicy Ultimates as well.
Is there really a wide difference ?
Finally, would fitting 26 x 2.20 tires to my ride affect my ride much apart from the obvious speed lost ? I currently have 2.10 on my rims

I agree with amtghota. There are just minor differences in the Juicy line up except for the blingy. I would prefer the 7 over the 5.

And also regarding tires. There are a lot of factors regarding tire performance than just tire with. Tire compount, thread drawing, weight, your local terrain condition (mud, hardpack, paved road, gravel, etc.) and your preferences.

Regarding width, different companies measure different their tires. So probably company "A" 2.2 tires might even be skinner than company "B" 2.1.

The ultimates just have carbon levers and titanium bolts, they are for the weight conscious xc jeyboy. Your juicy 7's will still have more adjustment than Juicy 5's.

As for changing your tires, it depends more on the tread pattern, tire pressure and rubber compound in your instance, as such a small change in width won't notice.
